'Find' Form

This form is displayed when you click the Find button on the Open (dictionary) form. Use the Name & Location tab or the Date tab, or both, to specify filter criteria.

For example, to find dictionary files created during the preceding two months, switch to the Date tab, select the Find all files and during the previous radio buttons, select 2 from the drop-down menu, and select the Find Now button. Matching dictionaries are then displayed in the list box.

LIST BOX:

Note: The list box is initially blank. When you select the Find Now button , it displays dictionaries matching search filter criteria entered onto the Name & Location tab or the Date tab, or both.

Live: A lightning symbol denotes that the dictionary is available for use

Name: Identifies an existing data dictionary

Description: Typically the purpose or owner of the existing data dictionary

Modified: Date and time existing data dictionary last changed

Created: Date and time existing data dictionary first created

Description: Typically the purpose or owner of the data dictionary

Note: Values entered into the fields on this tab constitute search filter criteria for the dictionaries search performed when you select the Find Now button .

RADIO BUTTONS:

• All Files: Ignores dates as filter criteria when you perform a search using the Find Now button

• Find all files: Enables dates as filter criteria when you perform a search using the Find Now button

Note: The remaining fields on this tab are enabled only when the Find all files radio button is selected.

Find all files FILTER CRITERIA:

Modified/Created: Select from the drop-down menu:

• Modified: Subsequent fields filter dictionaries according to when they were last modified

• Created: Subsequent fields filter dictionaries according to their creation date

• Between: Enables the two adjacent begin- and end-date fields

  Tip: Use the Ellipsis buttons to select dates from the electronic calendar.

• During the previous ... month(s): Enables the adjacent drop-down menu, from which you select a number of months. Dictionaries older than that are not displayed when you perform a search using the Find Now button.

• During the previous ... day(s): Enables the adjacent drop-down menu, from which you select a number of days. Dictionaries older than that are not displayed when you perform a search using the Find Now button.
