The MOT and Waiting Capacities form

This form enables entry of the capacities for each point of sale company. The other function this form offers is to be able to drill into the bookings to retrieve the WIP number for the job. This form has several areas which require further explanation these are:-

• Menu and tool bars
• POS company and capacity fields
• Bookings grid
• Details grid
• Form buttons

POS company and capacity fields

Immediately below the tool bar are a number of fields which must be considered and a critical to this functionality these are:-

POS company drop down: this field displays the company number and description of the selected POS company. The required POS company number can be typed in or selected from the drop down. Once the POS company has been selected the other related fields become enabled.

MOT skill codes: This is the WL skill for MOT often J but this should be confirmed

MOT waiting skill codes: This is the WL skill for waiting MOT's

MOT capacity: the total number of available MOT's per day. The Copy button enables you to copy the daily numbers to the waiting capacity fields.

Waiting capacity: the total number of waiting jobs available per day. All waiting job types should be considered.

The bookings Grid

The booking grid shows the number of jobs that have been booked. The top line shows the number of MOT's that have been booked and the bottom line shows the number of waiting jobs that have been booked. You need to be aware that this includes both MOT and normal service waiting jobs.

The details grid

The details grid displays basic information about the booked job. The grid is only populated when a job is selected from the bookings grid.

The grid headings will change to display the selected date. The grid has five headings displaying the following information:-

MOT: this column will show a tick when an MOT was booked

Waiting: this column will display a tick when the customer waiting flag was selected

WIP: the WIP number for the job

Date in: the date the vehicle is due in

Planned MOT: the date the MOT is planned for.

Form buttons

There are four form buttons which require further explanation these are:-

• Copy: this button is between the capacities grid in the top half of the form it enables you to copy the MOT capacities to the waiting capacities. Care should be taken when using this option as there is no undo option.
• Previous 20 days: this button will advance the booking grid back 20 days so previous bookings can be seen
• View Today: this will change the bookings grid so that the first day shown is today this will be shown as a day abbreviation rather than a number.
• Next 20 days: Refreshes the bookings grid so that the next twenty days are displayed. Each click moves the grid twenty days on.

Menu and tool bars

The menu and tool bar options on this form give the following options:-
