Accessed via selection of the Total Loss Tab from the Accident form
This tab holds data to determine if the vehicle is classed as a total loss (or written-off) and, if so, to determine its disposal value, salvage category and salvage bids. This data is purely notational and may be used to generate reports.
The fields held are as follows:
The date on which the vehicle is inspected by the engineer.
Selection of the
button to the right of the date field displays a monthly diary form in order to assist in establishing the correct date criteria. Selection of the< button moves to the previous month and the> button moves to the next month. Selection of Exit exits the diary form. A double-click on the appropriate day of the month enters this date into the date field.
The vehicle registration date. This field is automatically populated by the system (from the MK.vehic record and as such cannot be edited.
A checkbox which, if ticked, denotes that the vehicle has been inspected and declared to be a total loss.
The date on which the vehicle is declared to be a total loss.

The currently estimated value of the vehicle (given its current age and mileage) determined by the CAP guide book.
The odometer reading of the vehicle as at the time of the accident.
The value that the vehicle is declared to be worth in its current condition by the engineer.
The value that the vehicle is declared to be worth in its current condition by the Used Vehicle Disposal team (typically an internal department for the leasing company).
The
button immediately to the right of this field displays the following four categories:
A Category A B Category B C Category C D Category D The nature/value of each category is to be determined internally by the hire/leasing company.
The estimated value of the vehicle if written off an sold for salvage. This is typically determined by the best bid recorded in the Salvage Bids group box below.
What is agreed with the insurance company as to the value of the vehicle.
Additional free-format comments field for expanding upon the nature of the loss/salvage.
A check box which, if ticked, denotes that the vehicle is deemed a total loss. This is simply a reporting tool so that a Repgen can be written based on this field (plus registration, etc) to see which vehicles are total losses.
A series of six fields to log salvage bids from six different companies for the vehicle. This field holds the salvage company name.
A series of six fields to log salvage bids from six different companies for the vehicle. This field holds the salvage company bid value.
A series of six fields to log salvage bids from six different companies for the vehicle. This field holds the bid date from the salvage company.

The monetary value of the highest salvage bid.
The date on which the money is received from the salvage company for the vehicle.
