The Finance Profile set-up form is accessed via Miscellaneous Options / Finance Management / Finance Profiles and is used to create, edit and delete Finance Profile records.
The form is split into three areas. These are the Titlebar, the Finance Profile Dialogue Box and the column of Command Buttons down the right-hand side of the form.
In addition to displaying the form name the Title Bar provides a number of useful buttons.
To create a new finance profile select the Create Command Button.
To view or amend an existing finance profile use the following procedure:
The cursor is located in the Finance Type Code field prompting selection of a finance type code/description. A single-left-click of the ellipsis (...) box to the right of this field will display a Finance Type List Box from which the appropriate finance type is selected.
Having selected an appropriate Finance Type the system automatically displays the Finance Profile List Box containing a list of corresponding Profile Codes for the purposes of editing an existing finance profile. The finance profile code has a matching profile description and attached finance calculation method (e.g. DAB, RAB, etc). A double-left-click selects and confirms the required finance profile (alternatively, single-left-click and select the OK command button).
The Main Details Area displays a number of details relating to the selected Finance Type that are as follows:
- Profile Name
Displays a free-format textual description for the selected Finance Profile e.g. 36 Monthly 3 + 33 Start Month 2
- Finance Rates Table
Displays a table with up to ten bands. For each band, the appropriate monetary breaks and finance rates are to be entered.
Break
Displays the monetary break up to which the finance rates one and two are applicable. This is currently worked on Capital banding (defined with the Finance Types form).
Rate 1
Contains the "A" rate for the finance element of the quotation. This is either a percentage (if the selected Finance Type has a finance calculation method of DAB) or a factored table rate (if the selected Finance Type has a finance calculation method of RAB)
Rate2
Contains the "B" rate for the residual element of the quotation. This is either a percentage (if the selected Finance Type has a finance calculation method of DAB) or a factored table rate (if the selected Finance Type has a finance calculation method of RAB)
This field is only displayed if the Use funding rate and Use Margin for Quoted Rate checkboxes are ticked. These checkboxes are used in conjucntion with the Profit flag value of F to denote Finance Profit held within the Calculation Details Tab within System Parameters.
The Funding rate field may be used to enter an actual funding rate. The difference between the actual Funding rate and Finance Rate(1) is then calculated as being the profit/margin.
