The Verify Files screen is accessed via System Maintenance / Verify Files and is a facility that verifies the integrity of the files within the system.
This option does not, for example, verify the financial integrity of the Nominal Ledger, but rather the database structure of all the files used in the Nominal Ledger part of the database.
This option is available in the System maintenance menu within various modules
This screen is constituted of three elements, which are as follows:
In addition to displaying the screen name the Title Bar provides a number of useful buttons.
The Status Box displays the current status of the process. For example, if the Verify command button is selected, then the box may display the message Processing .
The following command buttons are available:
Exits to the System Maintenance Menu .
Provides online context-sensitive help.
Proceeds to verify the integrity of the file system.
Tip: This option should be run every day and is generally performed as part of a more general function of verifying all files by the system manager when running the End-of -Day.
Displays a Choose Company sub-form which enables selection of the required company for which files are to be verified. The appropriate company number (e.g. 73 ) should be entered in the Enter Company field and the OK command button used to confirm this selection. If a company is not selected then the current company is assumed to be the default selection.
