VSB Mandatory Fields

This function affects both new and used vehicle record maintenance and invoicing. It is similar to Mandatory and Advisable fields in CRM. The table (MS.X3.invch) controls which fields are required to be completed before a record can be saved or before invoicing is allowed (which utimately results in the record being saved). It also controls whether the conditions apply to new, used or both types of vehicle and whether it applies to sales, purchasing or both types of invoicing.

Users must complete the fields required before they can save a record or, when invoicing the user can either complete the fields required or delay invoicing until the the data concerned is available.

'Reasons for not allowing record to be saved' are displayed and invoicing errors are stated to ensure the completion of the necessary fields.

If the MS.X3.invch table does not exist or is empty the existing validations remain in place.

The following entries make up the VSB Mandatory table, which uses standard editor functions.

New Used or Both: Validates N,U or B

Vehicle status: Enter the status at which this action happens. For example I for Invoice

Required or Invoice: Enter the relevant validation. Sales, Purchase, Both or None

Field Name: Use the field name from either the new (VS.newst) or used (VS.usdst) stock table. For example CHASSIS Full Chassis.
