IMPORT ASCII DATA

Overview

The Import routine is accessed via the Kerridge Utilities menu within the Fleet System Management module. Selection of the OK command button displays the Import Ascii Data subform.

This routine provides a shortcut to the Ascii import process available elsewhere in the system. It does, however, only enable existing options to be run; new ascii import options cannot be created here.

The form is split into four areas which are as follows:

Title Bar

In addition to displaying the form name the Title Bar provides a number of useful buttons.

Import ASCII Data Dialogue Box

The top of the dialogue box displays the two selection made within the previous form i.e. the selected ASCII report and the required company for which it is to be run.

The left of the form displays the import statistics produce by the execution of the ASCII report. The following statistics are displayed:

Displays the current number of records imported to-date.

The number of records to be updated by the ASCII routine but cannot be located.

Some ASCII import routines create a record if one does not exist. This statistic displays the number of records created.

The number of records to be updated by the ASCII routine but cannot be accessed due to the fact they are currently locked by another user or process.

Command Buttons

A number of command buttons are available. Some buttons are context sensitive and are dimmed and only become available dependent upon the particular process that is being accessed. The full list of command buttons is as follows:

Proceeds with the ASCII Import routine.
