Profit Status Bar

The profit status bar, usually located near the bottom of any form, displays the yield of an enquiry or quote as you alter any of the details affecting the profit margin. The status bar updates with each selected option and displays the implications without being obvious to customers so you can use it to monitor the profitability of a proposed deal.

There are four modes for the profit status bar, which can be selected by clicking the floppy disk icon next to the figures themselves. These are:

• Figures: The profit status figures are calculated from estimated or actual costs held on each vehicle line. For example,

  where an uppercase letter denotes a positive value (profit) and a lowercase letter denotes a negative value (loss) for the number following it. The numbers after each letter represent:

  V	v	The profit or loss on the vehicle alone, not including any options.
  M	m	The profit or loss on any colour, trim and factory options.
  D	d	The profit on any dealer fitted accessories, insurance and warranty options.
  F	f	The commission on any finance scheme with the exception of payment protection insurance.
  I	i	The commission on any finance scheme payment protection insurance.
  O	o	The over allowance on any part exchange vehicles.
  T	t	Total deal profit or loss ( i.e. V + M + D + F + I - O ) it will also include any non recoverable costs.
  P	p	The same as T but as a percentage of the proposed deal shown to 1 decimal place without the decimal point.
  R	r	The actual rate of interest which will be charged on the finance scheme.

  
  

• Zeroed figures: For example:

• Payment: A summary of the payment details. For example:

  Purchase price: 22721.23   Equity: 2272.12   Monthly: 712.88

  where the Purchase price is the total (including VAT if applicable) and the Equity is total equity in the deal. Monthly is the amount of each installment and is only displayed once a finance scheme has been selected.

  
  

• Hidden: No information is displayed, only the floppy disc icon to be able to switch to the other three modes:
