Retailer Interface

The Retailer Interface parameters for every Marketing company and company Mercedes-Benz MB differ from each other.

Retailer Interface - Company: MB Form

This form is displayed when you click Manufacturer systems (Module) and MB. Mercedes-Benz (Company) > Menu - Utilities > Mercedes-Benz parameters and you browse to + Marketing parameters > + Retailer Interface > MB on the Project parameters browser.

Target system id: Enter the system to which the file is sent. It is stored in the header of the XML file on export.

Retail interface version: Enter the version of the interface used. It is stored in the header of the XML file on export.

CRM Contact executive: Is applied as default to a centralized created contact record, during the import process of the Retail interface. On export the contact executive is checked in the contacts of a customer record. If the contact executive is similar as the CRM Contact executive parameter, the contact record is not exported.

Clear log after (days): For both export and import a logging is created. If a number of days are set up in, the logging will be purged after the number of days is passed.

Date last cleaned: Displays the date of the last time the logging was purged.

Import directory: Enter from what location on the Autoline server the import file is retrieved before processing. The Mercedes-Benz Communication program retrieves the import file from CRiS and stores it on the Autoline server.

Error directory: Enter the location on the Autoline server where the XML file is placed, when a fatal error occurs during import.


Valid franchises:

Filters the CRM records on the selected franchise codes in the export process. Thus, it is ensured that only those makes applicable for Mercedes-Benz are taken into account for the Retail Interface. The selected franchise codes are displayed in blue.


Reports:

Export summary Enter the report of the generated summary from the export log file. During the export this log file is created. Default is CR5.

Error report: Enter the report that generates a complete list from the log file regarding the errors that occur while importing or exporting data. For example, a mandatory field is not filled, or that a specific LOV-code (List of value code) is not found in Autoline. Default is CR6.

Retailer Interface - Company: ** Form

This form is displayed when you click Manufacturer systems (Module) and MB. Mercedes-Benz (Company) > Menu - Utilities > Mercedes-Benz parameters and you browse to + Marketing parameters > + Retailer Interface > [Company] on the Project parameters browser.

Tabs:

General Tab

For customer records, the Customer type list, also referred as customer status, is derived from the Customer type field of Customer Department Details form for customer cost centres. Because the list of the Customer type field on this form can be customized, the list can differ from system to system.

For company records, the Company status list is derived from the Status field on the Company tab of the CRM form. The codes displayed in the company status list can differ from system to system.

For vehicle records, the Vehicle status list is derived from the Status field on the Current tab of the CRM form. The codes displayed in the vehicle status list can differ from system to system.

For company records, the Source of business list is derived from the Source of business field on the Company tab of the CRM form. For customer records the Source of business field is displayed on the Customer tab of the CRM form.

Valid cost centres:

The Retail interface - Export to CRiS uses the selected cost centres to derive the customer status prospect, delete or deceased of CRM records. The Retail interface - Import uses the selected cost centres to add to or modify in an existing or new CRM record. Selected items are highlighted in blue.

Record type statuses:

Customer type prospect: Select the customer type prospect for the Retail interface - Export to CRiS run.

Customer type delete: Select the customer type delete for the Retail interface - Export to CRiS run. Mapping to set the interface records to Record for deletion via export.

Customer deceased status: Select the customer type deceased for the Retail interface - Export to CRiS and Retail interface - Import run. Mapping to set the interface records to Deceased via export and customer records to Deceased via import.

Company delete status: Select the company status delete for the Retail interface - Export to CRiS and Retail interface - Import run. Mapping to set the interface records to Set for deletion via export and company records to To be deleted via import.

Vehicle delete status: Select the vehicle status delete for the Retail interface - Export to CRiS and Retail interface - Import run. Mapping to set the interface records to Set for deletion via export and vehicle records to Marked for deletion via import.

Record type statuses:

Default company status: Is applied as default to new company records created in the Retail interface - Import run.

Default customer status: Is applied as default to new customer records created in the Retail interface - Import run.

Default vehicle status: Is applied as default to new vehicle records created in the Retail interface - Import run.

Default source of business: Is applied as default to new company or customer records created in the Retail interface - Import run.

Retain Links: Select if you want to retain the previous customer/vehicle links, when the Sales contact, After sales contact or Driver of a vehicle record is modified in the Retail interface - Import run.

Block warning level: When a retailer blocks a record and the number of records blocked of the corresponding type (company, customer or vehicle) is equal to or greater than the number entered in this field, a warning message is displayed.

Max. number of profile changes w/o warning: Checks the total number of customer+company+vehicle records included in the import file and compares this with the number entered here in the parameters. When the total number of records found exceeds the value entered the warning mechanism is triggered.

Max. number of contacts without warning: Checks the total number of contact records provided in the import file and compares it against the value entered here in the parameters. When the total number of contact records exceeds the value entered the warning mechanism is triggered.

Note: When the parameter is set to zero the early warning for huge file functionality is disabled.

Assignment Tab

Default cost centres:

When a customer records are created or updated through the import process of the Retail interface, the selected cost centres are automatically linked to the customer record.

The selected codes in the Default cost centre parameter are first checked against values in the cost centres of the customer record. If a cost centre is similar, the Contact executive specified in the cost centre of the customer record is applied.

If no similarity is found, the selected codes in the Default cost centre parameter are checked against values in the Branch specific cost centre. If a cost centre is similar, the Executive specified in the Branch specific cost centre is applied, whether the executive field is empty or not.

Default costcentre pre-assignment: Select the cost centre to use for allocating a default sales responsible, when a withheld customer record contains changes and cannot be processed.

Default responsible profile changes: If you want to use this, select the default sales responsible for withheld customer, company and vehicle records during the import process of the Retail interface. The Responsible field in the Assign customer record changes, Assign company record changes and Assign vehicle record changes forms is filled with this default.

Default responsible contact records: If you want to use this, select the default sales responsible for contact records during the import process of the Retail interface. The Responsible field in the Manage contact records form is filled with this default.

If these Default responsible fields are blank, a responsible is derived from the cost centre(s). If no cost centre is present, the default cannot be applied and in that case the responsible remains empty.

Contact origin code: Select the code to allocate to a new created contact record in the import process.

Automatic assignment: Select if you want to assign the linked company and vehicle records to the same executive, when the customer record is assigned in Assign customer record.


Export agreement priority: Enter the minimum priority a user must have to edit the Export agreement field on the Mercedes-Benz specific customer or company information form in CRM.

Sort contact records: Select if you want to sort the contact records in CRM on contact date and not creation date. Hence, the contacts received from CRiS are now displayed in sequence.

E-mail Tab

During the import or export process a logging is created. After the import or export has finished, a summary report is derived from the logging. Furthermore, errors are also kept and processed by a report. Both summary report and error log are sent to the defined e-mail addresses.

What do you want to do?

Grid:

Type: Displays if the summary report and error log of the export or import process are sent to the defined e-mail address.

E-mail address: Displays the Autoline user id or the email address to which the summary report and error log are sent.

Grid Shortcut Menu:

Fields:

Type: Select the type for the export or import process of the retail interface.

E-mail address: Enter the Autoline user id or the email address to which the summary report and error log are sent.

E-mail Tab Buttons:

Save: Saves the created or changed e-mail record and refreshes the grid.

Adding an E-mail

To add an e-mail:

  1. Click Manufacturer systems (Module) and MB. Mercedes-Benz (Company) > Menu - Utilities > Mercedes-Benz parameters and you browse to + Marketing parameters > + Retailer Interface > [Company] on the Project parameters browser.

    The Retailer Interface - Company: ** form is displayed.

  2. Click the Amend toolbar button tbOptions.gif or click the Edit > Amend menu bar command and click the E-mail tab.

    The E-mail tab contains the email addresses of the retail interface.

  3. Right-click in the grid and click Add.

    The fields on this tab are cleared to create a new record.

  4. Enter the Type and E-mail address fields and click the Save E-mail tab button.

    Tip: If you only need to add one record you can also click the Save toolbar button Save.gif or click the Edit > Save menu bar command.

    The new record is stored and displayed in the grid, it is possible to add another e-mail record.

  5. Click the Save toolbar button Save.gif or click the Edit > Save menu bar command, to save your changes to all the Retail Interface parameters.

Amending an E-mail

You amend an e-mail address record if you need to change the parameters for some reason.

To amend an e-mail:

  1. Click Manufacturer systems (Module) and MB. Mercedes-Benz (Company) > Menu - Utilities > Mercedes-Benz parameters and you browse to + Marketing parameters > + Retailer Interface > [Company] on the Project parameters browser.

    The Retailer Interface - Company: ** form is displayed.

  2. Click the Amend toolbar button tbOptions.gif or click the Edit > Amend menu bar command and click the E-mail tab.

    The E-mail tab contains the email addresses of the retail interface.

  3. Click the gridline required, right-click and click Change.

    The fields on this tab are populated with the data of the gridline selected.

  4. Make the necessary changes to the Type and E-mail address fields and click the Save E-mail tab button.

    Tip: If you only need to change one record you can also click the Save toolbar button Save.gif or click the Edit > Save menu bar command.

    The changed record is stored and displayed in the grid, it is possible to change another e-mail record.

  5. Click the Save toolbar button Save.gif or click the Edit > Save menu bar command, to save your changes to all the Retail Interface parameters.

Deleting an E-mail

If it is necessary to delete a e-mail address record, proceed as follows.

To delete an e-mail:

  1. Click Manufacturer systems (Module) and MB. Mercedes-Benz (Company) > Menu - Utilities > Mercedes-Benz parameters and you browse to + Marketing parameters > + Retailer Interface > [Company] on the Project parameters browser.

    The Retailer Interface - Company: ** form is displayed.

  2. Click the Amend toolbar button tbOptions.gif or click the Edit > Amend menu bar command and click the E-mail tab.

    The E-mail tab contains the email addresses of the retail interface.

  3. Click the gridline required, right-click and click Delete.

    The record selected is removed definitely from the file and cleared from the grid, it is possible to delete another e-mail record.

  4. Click the Save toolbar button Save.gif or click the Edit > Save menu bar command, to save your changes to all the Retail Interface parameters.
