Processing Modules

See also: StarConnect Data Server Parameters

Note: The available processing modules are only displayed within the STCDS, the actual setup is done by the corresponding function.

The STCDS communication (asynchronous and synchronous) requires a set of processing operations that are located in a so called Processing module. These processing modules belong to the related topics that processes the data received from the data server. Related topics are:

The Processing Modules form displays details of the available processing modules for the selected external system ID, including the synchronous communication operations in case the processing module is active on the persistent line.

Processing Modules Form

This form is displayed when you click Manufacturer-specific > MB. Mercedes-Benz > Menu - Utilities > StarConnect Data Server > StarConnect data server to display the Communication Module form and you click the Tools > Processing modules menu bar command. It displays details of the available processing modules for the selected external system ID, including the synchronous communication operations in case the processing module is active on the persistent line.

Field:

External system ID: Select to populate available processing modules in the grid related to the External system ID. The External system ID is setup in the StarConnect Data Server Parameters and displays the GSSN dealer number of the main outlet of the dealer (retailer).

Processing Modules Grid:

Tip: Click to select a processing module which populates the details in the Synchronous Communication Operations For [interface / module] grid.

Module code: Displays the reference to the processing module that contains the actual processing operations, for example:

Description: Displays to which topic the processing module belongs.

System suffix: Displays the suffix ID if the interface require system suffixes. The suffix is used by, for example, MBC POS or XENTRY Portal to make the connection available to the different versions of the backend system. The system suffix is setup within the interface related parameters.

Tip: Double-click the System suffix cell will open the Set System Suffix form to maintain the suffix for the selected processing module.

Persistent line: Displays that whether the processing module is active (selected) or not (blank) on the persistent line for the concerning external system ID. For synchronous communication (over the persistent line) are processor daemons required.

Processing Modules Grid Shortcut Menu:

Synchronous Communication Operations For [interface / module] Grid:

Synchronous communication will receive online requests over a persistent connection between the Autoline server and the STCDS. Received requests are allocated to the corresponding processing module based on the operation ID as provided in the request. The configured synchronous communication operations will make sure that the corresponding processing module is generating the appropriate response that belongs to the request.

Operation ID: Displays the Operation ID of the synchronous communication for the selected processing module, for example:

Description: Displays the description of the use of the Operation ID.
