Add Default Communication Types

The Add default communication types displays the default communication types per configured processing module for the selected external system ID.

Note: This function is only available for Autoline users with a priority level of 7 or higher.

Asynchronous communication is based on communication types. A communication type defines direction of the communication (inbound or outbound), schedule settings, archiving settings and some other processing settings. These communication types are required to enable the transfer of data. Autoline users with a priority level of 7 or higher can add, amend or delete communication types on the Communication types tab of the Communication Module form.

Standard the default communication types per configured processing module are automatically created and added for the selected external system ID. It is possible to quickly add the required communication types per processing module, if the installed and set up, via the Add Default Communication Types form.

This form is displayed when you click Manufacturer-specific > MB. Mercedes-Benz > Menu - Utilities > StarConnect Data Server > StarConnect data server to display the Communication Module form, you select the required External system ID and Communication types tab and click the Tools > Default communication types menu bar command. It is possible to quickly create the required communication types per processing module, if the installed and set up for the selected external system ID.

File > Add Tick.gif Creates a communication type record for the selected default communication types, these communication types are populated on the Communication types tab of the Communication Module form and returns you to the previous form.
File > Close Exit.gif Returns you to the previous form.

Edit > Show all types Displays all available default communication types independent if the processing module is set up for the selected external system ID.

Grid:

[Icon]: Displays the icon that indicates the direction of the data transfer for the concerning communication type.

Type: Displays the type of the communication as configured by the StarConnect Data Server function or any other related topics, for example:

Event: Displays the event of the communication type as configured by the StarConnect Data Server function or any other related topics. For example, CREATE, UPDATE, READ or NOTIFICATION_REQUEST.

Description: Displays the description of the use for the communication type. This description is also included in emails that are sent when receiving and sending data.

Add: Select or clear this cell to create and populate this selected communication types on the Communication types tab of the Communication Module form. Communication types that are not listed on the Communication types tab of the Communication Module form will appear blue and are default selected, the other communication types appear dimmed and are unavailable for selection.
