This page holds information required to setup and connect to the C2 vehicle configurator.
C2 is only available to franchises defined in the Mercedes-Benz parameters, all other franchises continuing to function as normal in Showroom. The availability of C2 also depends on the parameter C2 Availability, which dictates whether Autoline Showroom attempts to connect to C2. Any change to this flag is instantaneous and effective for the next attempted connection to C2 in the quote cycle.
This form is displayed when you click Manufacturer systems (Module) and MB. Mercedes-Benz (Company) > Menu - Utilities > Mercedes-Benz parameters and you browse to Sales > C2 Parameters > MB. Mercedes-Benz on the Project parameters browser.
C2 Vehicle Configurator Grid
Note: For each MS Company, a franchise record should be defined. For Mercedes-Benz this should be set to MB, matching the MS company ID set in the franchise record of the Franchise data module. Therefore, it is only possible to control the C2 process at a franchise level.
For each franchise and showroom combination, it is possible to define a set of parameters.
As a minimum, a default record can be created for each franchise, which can be used across showroom companies. This could be setup in such a way to include defaults for all parameters other than the C2 availability which needs to be defined at each Franchise and SR company combination.
In order to use C2 for a specific franchise and showroom combination a parameter record must exist here. The minimum requirement for the parameter record to be considered valid is that it has the Franchise, SR company code and C2 availability defined.
Note: If a franchise and/or showroom combination doesn’t exist within the parameters, the C2 configurator will not be available.
Fran Letter: Display the franchise letter.
SR Company: Display the Showroom company number.
Available?: Display the C2 availability flag for the franchise / SR company combination.
WebDomain: Display the web domain name or the web server IP address.
Base URL: Display the base URL of the Web Domain.
Tabs:
The data on each of the tabs is related to the selected franchise and/or showroom combination grid line.
C2 Availability / Domain / Other Misc. Parameters Tab
Single letter franchise: For each franchise add the single letter code from the franchise record.
Note: The franchise record (DD.franc) should also have the MS company ID defined as MB too.
C2 availablity: If ticked, C2 is available, otherwise unticked is not. This is not available on the default but needs to be set for a company record.
SR company code: Select a showroom company from the dropdown list or leave blank for the default.
Use C2-IPC ?: Select to utilise the (Cesar) IPC configurator as used for wholesale offers. This parameter is not available on a default record and must be set against a specific Franchise / SR Company record.
Allow to alter production and pricing date: Select to allow the alteration of the production and pricing dates. The user is presented with a form where the Production and Pricing dates can be edited when creating a new C2 quote. If the parameter is not selected, then both these dates are set to "today" when the C2 offer is created.
Temporary path to store XML's: This is a Temporary workspace for generating XML files to be sent to the C2. For example ^ENV(BASE)/GCCXML.
Web Domain / Server IP address: The the web domain name or the web server IP address for C2 within DSC.
Hidden tag to get the config URL: This is a hidden tag that Autoline will look for on retail offer pages being displayed in C2. This hidden tag provides a URL to the vehicle configuration which is downloaded. If the tag is not available the user will be informed that the quote process is not complete on C2. For example, the tag might be defined as dsc_cc_xml_url.
Base URL: The base URL combined with the process URL will drop the user into the correct place for using the configurator. For example Create / Amend retail offer on C2.
Language code in the URL: This fixes the language to be used within C2. The current setting is for Dutch. If this is left blank, the language is derived from the users’ record. See also Language parameter file for C2 URL.
URL for Creating a Retail offer: This is the process portion of the final URL for creating a C2 offer. This is combined with the Base URL.
URL for Amending a Retail offer: This is the process portion of the final URL for amending a C2 offer. This is combined with the Base URL.
Proxy / C2 Authentication details Tab
Note: If there is a proxy server because the web server is outside of the DC network, these parameters should be completed. These will be used when a user chooses Get retail configuration, (which is a background process not requiring the Autoline browser). Otherwise, if launching C2 though the browser, the user will be requested to input a proxy server user name and Password.
Proxy Server / IP address: This can be either an IP address or named server. If the proxy server is set, but no proxy authentication is required, the Proxy user name and Proxy password can be left blank. When C2 is launched it will still go through the proxy server but no authentication will be carried out.
Proxy port: Port number for proxy server.
Proxy user name: Proxy server user ID if authentication is required.
Proxy password: Proxy server password if authentication is required.
Note: If C2 authentication is required, the two parameters below should be completed. These will be used when a user chooses Get retail configuration, (which is a background process not requiring the Autoline browser) otherwise, if launching C2 through the browser, the user will be requested to input a user id and password.
C2 user name: User name for authentication. When C2 is launched, this will be validated against the C2. If valid, access will be granted, if not, an error will be displayed from the web server.
C2 password: User password for authentication.
