The Day Patterns form offers the possibility to schedule tasks in Timed operations for a defined set, for example a task to run every second day. The user no longer has to schedule the same task 3 times.
What do you want to do?
This form is displayed when you click Manufacturer systems (Module) and MB. Mercedes-Benz (Company) > Menu - Utilities > Mercedes-Benz parameters and you browse to System > Day Patterns on the Project parameters browser.
Pattern:
ID: Enter a unique 2 character pattern id. Available characters include alpha characters (A-Z and a-z) and numbers (0-9).
Name: Enter a description for the day pattern.
Pattern type:
For each day pattern, the user can select whether it is a weekly or a monthly pattern.
Weekly: Select if the day pattern is a weekly pattern. If selected the days of the week are available for selection in the Days group.
Monthly: Select if the day pattern is a monthly pattern. If selected days 1 to 28 are available for section in the Days group.
Frequency:
Each: Define the frequency for the week/month pattern type.
Tip: This is related to each week/month (1) or whether is should only be considered every nth week/month.
Days:
The fields available in the Days group are dependend on the selection made in the Pattern type group.
Select for which day(s) the day pattern record is valid for:
- If Weekly is selected, then fields Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday are available for selection.
- If Monthly is selected, then fields Day 01 up to Day 28 are available for selection.
Before you can schedule a timed operation with type S-Special days or O-Interval on special days, you need to create the day patterns.
To add a new day pattern:
Click the New element or the icon.
The Day Patterns form is displayed.
Click the Amend toolbar button or click the Edit > Amend menu bar command, select the Day pattern and complete the parameters fields concerning this record.
Click the Save toolbar button or click the Edit > Save menu bar command, to save your changes.
Your new Day Pattern is represented as a parameter element in the browser.
To amend a day pattern:
Click the Day Pattern element that represents the settings you want to change.
The Day Patterns form is displayed for the day pattern you selected.
Click the Amend toolbar button or click the Edit > Amend menu bar command and make the changes.
Click the Save toolbar button or click the Edit > Save menu bar command, to save your changes.
To delete a day pattern:
Click the Day Pattern element that represents the day pattern parameter you want to delete.
The Day Patterns form is displayed.
Click the Amend toolbar button or click the Edit > Amend menu bar command.
The Delete toolbar button is available.
Click the Delete toolbar button or click the Edit > Delete menu bar command.
You are prompted to confirm deletion.
Click Yes to delete the settings.
The record is deleted and the parameter element is removed from the browser.
When editing an option in Schedule editor, the option S - Special days is available if at least one day pattern has been defined.
Select System utilities > Timed operations > Configure Schedule from the main menu.
Select the option code for the new schedule and click the Add button.
The Scheduling Information form is displayed.
Select frequency S - Special days.
The editor will have the same look and feel as if D - Daily has been selected.
Except the additional field Day pattern will be available.
Select the day pattern as defined in the Day Pattern parameters.
Once saved the schedule can be found by selecting the Weekly or Monthly option in the Scheduled options by frequency group, depending on the day pattern selected (Weekly/Monthly).
When editing an option in Schedule editor, the option O - Interval on special days is available if at least one day pattern has been defined.
Select System utilities > Timed operations > Configure Schedule from the main menu.
Select the option code for the new schedule and click the Add button.
The Scheduling Information form is displayed.
Select frequency O - Interval on special days.
The editor will have the same look and feel as if I - Interval has been selected.
Except the additional field Day pattern will be available.
Select the day pattern as defined in the Day Pattern parameters.
Enter the Start time, End at and Inteval criteria settings.
Once saved the schedule can be found by selecting the Weekly or Monthly option in the Scheduled options by frequency group, depending on the day pattern selected (Weekly/Monthly).
