Transfer types

As explained before, the communication program is capable to handle a number of different transfer types. All of them are explained below with an example.

No protocol

The No protocol transfer type can be used when you want to transfer a file to your computer. In that case you can skip the Client, FTP or Server commands tabs because they are not applicable.

File Transfer Protocol

The FTP transfer type can be used to transfer a file using the FTP protocol.

When you want to use this type, you also have to complete the FTP tab, on which you enter e.g. the IP address, user id and password.

Server Commands protocol

Files can also be transferred using the SCMD transfer type. In that case you also have to complete the Server Commands tab.

E-mail protocol

Files can also be send as an attachment with a e-mail.

In this case the e-mail address must be entered in the Remote filename / e-mail field and the text in the e-mail can be entered on the Mail text tab.

Select Directory protocol

The Select Directory protocol can be used to transfer a file to a directory which can be selected before the file is transferred.

In this case the Remote directory and the Remote filename fields can be used as a default but when a request with this transfer type is transferred, the Select Directory screen.

As a default the default from the type is selected, but this screen enables you to select the wanted directory. When network drives are mapped, it is also possible to select these. When the request is put in the End of Day routine, the default location is used to send the file.

File Transfer Protocol

Note: The DCIF protocol is only used and available for Germany.

When using the CDIF Transfer type, you will have to complete the CDIF tab. In that case the Client, FTP and Server commands tabs can be skipped.
