Introduction

Below a diagram on the complete parts ordering process in case the importer (IMS) uses Autoline. This document describes the Generate Dealer Confirmation Order file part of the process.

• 1. The dealer (DMS) will send a parts order to the importer (IMS). On the IMS system, the Receive customer orders function in the Point-of-Sale module will process the parts order and will create a workshop order (WIP). This is a standard IMS program and is therefore not described in this document.
• 2. Depending on the availability of the ordered parts in the IMS stock, the part is directly delivered to the customer or a purchase order line is created (in that case the importer itself has no stock available and must order the part at the manufacturer). In case the part is available on stock is the process continuing with step 6.
• 3. The Importer will submit the purchase order with the part that could not be delivered and submits it to the factory using the Submit Stock Order program.
• 4. The manufacturer will send based on this purchase order a confirmation order file back to the IMS.
• 5. Using the information from the Order Confirmation file, the purchase order and the workshop order are updated. All condition codes are processed, including the suppressions.
• 6. Based on the line status and the information from the Confirmation Order program a confirmation order is generated for the dealer.
• 7. This file can than be transferred to the DMS system, using the Mercedes-Benz Communication program and imported in the confirmation order program at the DMS system.
• 8. The Confirmation Order program at the dealer site, will update the purchase order and the connected workshop order lines.

NOTE: These helpfiles do not describe the working of the order confirmation program it selves but only those functions and parameters that are related to the process of generating an Confirmation Order file for a dealer system from the IMS point of view. Please consult the help files for the Order Confirmations program for importers and dealers for the details of the program.

Before you can generate any Confirmation Order files, you must ensure that you set up the Autoline system correctly.
