The menu option to Generate drill down is an essential step in the generation of an Advanced Analysis. The Generation of the drill down files takes place after the processing the Raw Data.
The option Generate drill down causes the Drill down index files to be created.
The process of Drill Down allows a summarized figure at any level to be dissected by the next level of detail.
At the lowest level, a program Overlay may allow you access to an individual file record and, in the case of transaction with a document archive, a copy of the associated document. Alternatively, a Report Generator format can be utilised to present a final detailed record.
Example: Total Gross Profit for a company for the period of November.
Interrogation of the total figure could potentially drill down into the split in Gross Profit per Branch and subsequently an interrogation of an individual branch, with the ability to view the figures that created the total Gross Profit.
In this way, it would be possible to see how much gross profit each department had made.
If one required greater detail on a certain department's figure, then again it would be possible to drill into a total, thus giving a detailed break down of an individual department's Gross Profit.
If an overlay is attached then the original invoices may be displayed.
To Generate drill down:
From the Rev. 8 Master menu, select the Advanced analysis option and the company you require.
The ADVANCED ANALYSIS menu is displayed.
Select the Generate drill down option.
The Generate Advance Analysis Drill-Down form is displayed.
