Checking File Keys and Dictionary Keys

Note: Users whose access permission priority is less than 9 are only able to see file details relating to the dictionary they are in.

To access file keys or dictionary keys:

  1. On the master menu, or any main Autoline menu, click the Utilities button.

    The Utilities menu is displayed.

  2. Select the File utilities option.

    The File Utilities form is displayed:

This form is displayed when you select the File utilities option from the Utilities menu. As well as File details and File Information group boxes, it contains two tabs:

VCRRight.gif Tools > Reset > Slow Resets the file, re-enabling access
  Tools > Verify > Level 1 to Level 4 Verifies to the selected level
updateFast.gif Tools > Update > Fast KCC users only
VCRLeft.gif Tools > Update > Slow Enables the file to be updated manually when changes have been made to the dictionary
File new Tools > Create Not used
initialise.gif Tools > Initialise Not used
ReIndex.gif Tools > Re-index Not used

File Details:

Dictionary: Dictionary filename and its folder/directory path

File: File filename and its folder/directory path

Work space: Folder/directory path of the work space

File Information:

Version: The file's version

Record length: Maximum size of a record in bytes

Data records: The maximum number of data records that the file can hold

In use: The number of actual records the file contains

Index blocks: Maximum number of index entries

Index used: Actual number of index entries

Serial offset: The offset of the serial number

Serial number: sequential positive integer

File Keys Tab

Key: Sequential index number

Length: The key's length in bytes

Key: Duplicate keys allowed: Yes or No

Depth: Key depth

Key1 to Key8:

Start: The key's start point

Len: The key's length in bytes
