Experian Data Check

Users of Autoline with an Experian interface can use this primarily for vehicle provenance checking. We now can use it to back fill data for previously unknown vehicles when they are created for the first time from certain modules.

You may have navigated to this help file from one of the modules below. If so you may have already done the Experian check, click here to see the related help files on the information returned. If not continue to the What section do you want to find out about? options below.

Experian Data Check Menu

This menu is accessed from various modules, or when you select Vehicle menu from the UNITED KINGDOM MAIN MENU in CS module, then Experian data check from the VEHICLE MENU. It enables you primarily to check vehicle provenances.

Experian Users

Each user who is authorised to carry out an Experian check must first have their user ID created in the Experian users section or they will not be able perform a check.

User ID: User ID must match with user details in system utilities. Create the user ID and users name.

Experian Daemon

A software daemon as used within the Autoline system is a background process that is responsible for keeping various data files updated in realtime by using a process that operates in the background. Whenever you perform an operation the terminal concerned is immediately released for further use rather than being delayed waiting for the various file updates that the transaction has generated to take place.

Start Experian daemon: If the daemon says it is stopped click the green arrow button to start the daemon, this enables the Experian process to be used.

Stop Experian daemon: If the daemon says it is running by clicking the red square button it will stop the daemon and the Experian process.

Close: Close this screen after stopping or starting the daemon

Making a Request

To make a request enter the vehicle registration and mileage, Click the EXPERIAN check button once it is enabled. The mileage may not need to be entered dependant on setting in the Experian parameters.

EXPERIAN check: Click to perform search.

Creating a request makes the Experian check, Registration number and Current mileage buttons inactive. A rotating ( / ) on the right hand side of the button indicates that the operation is in progress.

Tip: If Experian does not appear to work check and start the daemon if necessary.

When the results are returned the Experian information screen will be presented, click on the + to drill down into the display of information. The results can be sent to the currently selected printer by clicking on the print button. Once the information has been viewed or printed take the close option to return to the request screen again.

Note: If there is a duplicate request a warning message will be displayed - select the required option Make new request or View results

Tip: The result are then stored in the UK.CS.expdf table for access with Kerridge standard tools (rep gen, ad hoc, advanced analysis etc.)

Request Archive

Requesting an archive displays previously stored Experian checks, these are stored on the users server in the ENV("LOGS") which is defined in the userenv.txt file as B"LOGS","$BASE/misc/logs" this path can be overridden by having an entry in the request path of the Experian parameters.

The archive form is split into a table displaying the columns Date, Reg number, User id and Time. To display an individual request right click on the selected line and either take the option:-
