System Parameters (Escalate Tab)

Overview

This tab is used to define whether the Escalate process is enabled within the Kompact module and, if so, which reports are used within this process.

To access the Escalate Tab:

  1. From the Master Menu, select the Fleet Kompact option and Company required.

    The Kestrel Kompact Menu is displayed.

  2. Select the System Maintenance option.

    The System Maintenance menu is displayed.

  3. Select the System Parameters option.

  4. Select the Escalate Tab.

The following fields are displayed:

Use escalate calculation method?: A checkbox which, if ticked, activates the escalation functionality in both the Fleet Quotations and Fleet Kompact modules.

Note: If this checkbox is ticked then the default Early Term Charge value on early terminations reflects the current outstanding capital i.e. Actual Capital Cost (the initial purchase price held in the Financials Tab) less Contract depreciation. The contract depreciation is the contract (customer's) capital reduction to the date of the last depreciation.

Note 2: If this checkbox is ticked then additional fields are displayed in the budgets area of the agreement Postings Tab grid showing values derived by means of the new methods of depreciation. The additional information relates to Net Book Values, Instalment Profit and Interest Rates. Historic, present and future net book values are displayed for each type of depreciation: Customer finance; Lease income; and Contract depreciation and Tax depreciation (these fields are Contract balance, Cost NBV, NBV and Tax NBV. Kompact also shows the Instalment Profit and Instalment Profit % fields. Instalment profit = Selling instalment - Cost instalment. Instalment profit percentage = (Instalment profit / Selling instalment) *100. The interest percentage is held and displayed separately for: Customer finance; Lease income; Contract depreciation and Tax depreciation - the interest rate is the same for both - (the Interest rates fields are: Customer Finance %, Lease Income %, Contract Depn % and Tax Depn %.

Escalate Report: The report format used within the Escalation routine within the Accounts area which generates the escalation process for the fixed rental increases. This report can be run to view the escalation values for the affected agreements prior to actually generating the increases.

Interest Report: The report format used within the Escalation routine within the Accounts area which generates the escalation process for the interest rate increases. This report can be run to view the escalation values for the affected agreements prior to actually generating the increases.
