SPECIFICATION FORM

Overview

Accessed via Vehicle Purchasing / Purchase Management / Bids Tab and a double-click on any of the rows within the Bids Grid ;  this presents the Bids Form from where thevehicdet.gif(905 bytes)icon or Spec Lines option (from the Review Menu) is selected.

In addition to displaying the full vehicle specification for the bid, this form also allows a number of editing processes to be carried out. 

The values within this screen and the Bids Tab in general are all displayed as basic prices (i.e. before VAT, RFL, discount, etc).

This screen is split into four parts that are as follows:

Title Bar

In addition to displaying the screen name the Title Bar provides a number of other useful identification criteria and buttons.

Menu Bar

The content of the Specification Form menu bar is dependent upon the particular process that is being accessed. The full menu bar contents, however, are as follows:

Exit

Exits the Specification Form and saves any edited values.

Provides online access to a context sensitive Help screen.

Toolbar

As with the menu bar, the content of the Specification Form toolbar is dependent upon the particular process that is being accessed. The full toolbar contents, however, are as follows:

Specification Form Dialogue Box

This area of the screen displays a grid relating to the vehicle and vehicle specification quoted and bid prices. The following fields are displayed:

Displays the vehicle variant description within the first row. The following rows display any factory or dealer fitted options on the vehicle specification.

The value of the original quotation.

The bid price from the selected supplier.

The variance value between the original Quoted Price and the Bid Price . This value is displayed as a positive figure if the bid price is less than the quoted price and a negative figure if the bid price is higher than the quoted price.

A code denoting the nature of the specification line. The codes are as follows:

A single-left-click on any row within the grid displays an Edit Menu option.  A single-left-click on the Edit Menu option displays a sub-menu displaying the following options:

Enables the exclusion of a particular specification item from the bid. If selected the following sub-menu is displayed:

Returns to the Specification form without any action being taken.

If a specification item is not required within the bid (dealer fitted options such as a towbar, etc) it can be excluded. A specification item that is excluded has the text Not Included in the Bid in the Bid Price column. If a specification item is excluded from the bid but then needs to be added then this option now displays Include . An included item displays a cost within the Bid Price column.

Amends the Bid Total value within the Bid Form and displays the variance. Any variance between the quoted price and the bid price is assumed to be a variance of the vehicle and not the extras.

Enables the bid value for each of the specification items to be set. The required specification item to be edited should be selected (highlighted) and then and Amend menu option selected. The variance between the quoted price and amended price is displayed.  This cannot be carried out for delivery, plates, RFL.
