Selection of the ellipsis (...) box directly to the right of the field invokes a Search Box. This enables a sophisticated search to be carried out for retrieval of a particular record.
In addition to displaying the form name the Title Bar provides a number of useful buttons.
An input window into which is typed the required text criteria upon which a search is to be carried out via either the shortname or wordsearch function.
This function is not applicable within the context of this form.
This function permits searches on up to three separate words (a minimum of three and maximum of eight characters long) which are entered to identify the Finance Type concerned. Words are only searched on stem basis, and not on a contains basis. Words can be entered in any order and the search is not case sensitive.
Once the word(s) to on which to search have been entered into the Search Window and the Wordsearch Command Button clicked, the form displays a list of matching records meeting the selection criteria and showing the Finance Type Code, Finance Type Description and Finance Calculation Method.
A double-click with the mouse selects a particular record; alternatively, a single-click highlights the record and the OK command button confirms the selection.
Following selection the selected Finance Type is returned to the previous form.
Displays the finance company code (which is set up within Miscellaneous Options / Finance Management / Finance Sources).
Displays the finance company description (which is set up within Miscellaneous Options / Finance Management / Finance Sources).
Displays the finance calculation method used for the selected Finance Type e.g. DAB (for "Derived A & B Rates).
The Command Buttons in the Search Boxform function as follows:
Confirms input of the required Finance Type and returns to the invoking form.
Exits the Search Box form and returns to the previous invoking form.
