RATESBOOK (MULTIPLE) VEHICLE SELECTION

Overview

A double-left-click of the mouse on the first row of the Vehicle Selection List Box within the Vehicles Tab immediately invokes the Ratesbook (Multiple) Vehicle Selection form. This form is utilised to locate and select the appropriate vehicle(s) for the ratesbook by searching at manufacturer, model and variant level.

Alternatively, a single right-click of the mouse on the first row of the Vehicle Selection List Box presents a small Pop-up Menu Box which displays a number of menu options of which both the Add and Exclude invoke the Ratesbook (Multiple) Vehicle Selection form. The Add option includes selected vehicles within the ratesbook whilst the Exclude option ensures that the selected vehicles are not included within the calculation process.

This procedure is extremely flexible in that it enables selection to be made from a mixture of franchise, model and variant levels.

This form is split into four parts, which are as follows:

Title Bar

In addition to displaying the form name the Title Bar provides a number of useful buttons.

The contents of the Ratesbook (Multiple) Vehicle Selection menu bar is as follows:

Following selection, two alternative options are presented:

Exits the Vehicle Selection form and returns to the Vehicles Tab form without saving the vehicle selection criteria.

Exits the Vehicle Selection form and returns to the Vehicle Tab.

Provides online access to a context sensitive Help form.

Toolbar

The contents of the full toolbar are as follows:

Exits the Vehicle Selection form and returns to the Vehicle Tab.

The Cancel button exits the Vehicle Selection form and returns to the Vehicles Tab form without saving the vehicle selection criteria.

Provides online context sensitive help information to the user

Vehicle Selection Dialogue Box

This area consists of two distinct fields under which are three List Boxes displayed side by side.

The List Box on the left displays franchises; the middle List Box displays models; and the List Box on the right displays variants.

Variant Availability

This is a facility allowing the availability type to be defined at variant level for the vehicle selection within the quotation.

This field is limited to the status of Current at present.

Model Availability

This is a facility allowing the availability type to be defined at model level for the vehicle selection within the quotation.

This field is limited to the status of Current at present.

Type

This field displays the applicable vehicle class type. Current available types are as follows:

This is determined by the selection in the Product for PLG/Commercial field in the Details Tab (within Product Details / Miscellaneous Options).

Description

This is a facility allowing the entry of free format text for a vehicle description. Any vehicle variants that contain the entered text are displayed. This field can only be used following selection of the required franchise and model.

Franchise Selection

To select and return a single franchise to the Vehicle Tab for inclusion within the ratesbook vehicle selection use one of the following methods:

This results in the display of the full franchise description within the Vehicle Selection area of the Vehicles Tab.

This procedure is to be repeated for each required franchise.

Model Selection

To select and return a single vehicle model to the Vehicle Tab for inclusion within the ratesbook vehicle selection use one of the following methods:

This displays the full franchise and model descriptions within the Vehicle Selection area of the Vehicles Tab.

This procedure is to be repeated for each required model.

Variant Selection

This box displays the full variant description, model year, variant code, availability flag and vehicle class code.

If a List Box contains more options than the box can display, as with the Franchise box, the form presents a Scroll Bar which can be operated in a number of ways:
