VEHICLE REVIEW

Overview

This form provides a breakdown of the vehicle and option cost elements within the quotation. A number of these cost elements can be edited from within this form (i.e. those fields which are not greyed-out)

The form is split into four parts which are as follows:

Title Bar

In addition to displaying the form name the Title Bar provides a number of useful buttons.

Menu Bar

The contents of the Vehicle Review menu bar are as follows:

Displays a pop-up box containing the message:

Cancelling this option will lose all changes made during vehicle review. Are you sure you wish to continue?

Selecting Yes effects a return to the primary Quotation form without saving amendments. Selecting No or Cancel leaves the user in the current form.

Exit

Returns to the primary Quotation form saving any data amendments.

Vehicle Bonus

This presents a small dialogue allowing the following fields to be manipulated in order to amend the overall vehicle bonus value:

  • Bonus Value

Displays the current Volume Related Bonus value (Either directly imported from the default data source or manipulated through the Vehicle Data Management form). This value may be edited here.

  • Dealer Bonus

Displays the current Dealer Bonus value (Either directly imported from the default data source or manipulated through the Vehicle Data Management form). This value may be edited here.

  • Total Bonus

The sum of the above two fields.

  • Bonus Retained

It is possible for the Hire Company to retain some of the Volume Related Bonus (see the VRB %age Passed On field in the Quotations Defaults Tab within the Customer Defaults form). If a percentage has been withheld then it is displayed here.

  • Actual Bonus

The Total Bonus less the Bonus Retained.

The OK command button confirms any edited changes and returns to the Vehicle Review form. The Cancel command button cancels any edited changes and returns to the Vehicle Review form.

Miscellaneous Vehicle Details

This presents a small dialogue allowing the following fields to be manipulated:

  • Total P11D

Displays the vehicle "P11D" cost. This field may be edited provided the user has a sufficient priority level.

  • Engine CC

The cubic capacity of the engine. This data is typically imported from the default data supplier.

  • Co2 Emission

Co2 being the Carbon Dioxide emissions of the engine. This data is typically imported from the default data supplier.

The old income tax charge based on 35% of the car's price, subject to business mileage and age-related discounts, is now abolished. This will be replaced by a charge on a percentage of the car's price graduated according to the level of carbon dioxide emissions.

  • Fuel Type

Denotes the fuel type used by the vehicle e.g. D Diesel. This data is typically imported from the vehicle data supplier.

  • RFL Band

The Road Fund Licence Co2 banding group e.g.E. This code determines the RFL licence costs.

Standard Options

A click of the mouse places a tick against this menu option and the Standard Options are displayed in the area to the right of the form. A further click deselects the display of these options.

Cap Technical Data

If CAP data is being used then this option enables the CAP techincal data file (ctech) to be viwed. This file contains data concerning EURO 3 Standard Emissions, EC Fuel Consumption figures, NCAP details, engine performance, vehicle dimensions, weights and capacities, etc.

Provides online access to a context sensitive Help form.

Toolbar

The contents of the full Vehicle Review toolbar are as follows:

Exit returns to the primary Quotation form saving any data amendments.

Returns to the primary Quotations form without saving any data amendments.

Displays a pop-up box containing the message:

Vehicle Review Dialogue Box

The dialogue box is split into three distinct areas: the top of the form contains basic vehicle description information; on the left of the form is a display of the relevant vehicle and option details relating to the current quotation; on the right of the form is a display of information relating to Factory Fitted Options and Dealer Fitted Accessories. Fields displayed in red font can be edited.

The fields displayed to the top of form are as follows:

Displays the full vehicle description imported from the default data source or (in the case of Vehicles which are created manually) the description which has been entered in the Franchise Data form.

Displays the vehicle model year imported from the default data source

A tick in this checkbox denotes that this is a used vehicle (See the Used Vehicles Details form).

Displays the vehicle "P11D" cost. The calculation for this field is as follows: List Price + Total Options List Price + Manufacturer's Delivery List Price + Manufacturer's Plate List Price + VAT.

Displays the Volume Related Bonus value from the manufacturer for the quoted vehicle variant.

A checkbox which, if ticked, denotes that the bonus is to be claimed back from the manufacturer. If the bonus is taken off the dealer invoice then this field is not ticked. This value is set at customer override level.

The insurance group for the current vehicle. This data is typically provided by the default data supplier.

Co2 being the Carbon Dioxide emissions of the engine

In an attempt to protect the environment, a major reform in the taxation of company cars was announced by the Chancellor on 9th March 1999. The package of reform, which took effect from April 2002, encourages manufacturers to produce cars with lower carbon dioxide emissions.

The previous income tax charge based on 35% of the car's price, subject to business mileage and age-related discounts, is now abolished. This has been replaced by a charge on a percentage of the car's price graduated according to the level of carbon dioxide emissions.

Data suppliers such as David Henley Systems and CAP are now providing this data at variant level.

Denotes the fuel type used by the vehicle e.g. D Diesel. This data is typically imported from the vehicle data supplier.

The fields displayed on the left of form are as follows:

The row displaying List Price information is divided into two columns displaying in turn: Vehicle List Price (this figure can be edited) and Factory Options List Price (this does not include dealer options and is the non-discounted price).

This is a European tax and is not required for vehicle quotations within the U.K..

The row displaying discount information is divided into three columns displaying in turn:

Discount Percentage

Vehicle Discount

Factory Options Discount (This does not include dealer options).

This is the discount provided by the dealer and the default percentage is set up in the Margin field located on the Prices Tab in Franchise Data / Model Variants. The default percentage can be overridden in this form by editing either the discount Percentage or the Vehicle discount field; editing one of these fields correspondingly amends the other.

The sum of the (VRB) Bonus Value and Dealer Bonus fields.

At this point in the display, the first four fields are underlined and a sub-total is displayed. This sub-total displays the "discounted price" for the Vehicle, Factory options and Dealer options

Displays the discounted Factory options price (this figure is equal to the above sub-totaled "discounted price" for the Factoryoptions column.

Displays the Dealer options price.

Displays the dealer delivery cost. The default value is set up at model level in the Model Codes form within Franchise Data. The value is taken from the Delivery Cost field contained in the Details Tab. The default value can be edited within this form if required.

Displays the dealer number plates cost. The default value is set up at model level in the Model Codes form within Franchise Data. The value is taken from the Number Plates Cost field contained in the Details Tab. The default value can be edited within this form if required.

Another sub-total is displayed here. This sub-total displays the "discounted price" for the Vehicle, Factory options and Dealer options plus Delivery & Plates

Displays Value Added Tax (VAT) for the sub-totalled amount.

Displays the total Road Fund License for the first year of the quoted contract term.

Displays the vehicle registration fee which is set up within Miscellaneous Options / Product Management / Misc Price Details. The figure in brackets denotes the engine banding row utilised for the quoted vehicle.

Displays the vehicle "On The Road" cost. This is the total cost of the vehicle (which takes the previous sub-total and includes VAT, RFL & Reg Fee).

The right of the form displays option information (for Standard, Factory and Dealer fitted options).

For each option the following data is displayed:

A single-click on any of these three fields for an option displays the Quotation Options form which can be used to view and edit the various elements which make up a particular option.
