The Manufacturers Tyre Matrix set-up form is accessed via Miscellaneous Options / Manufacturers Tyre Matrix and is used to create, edit and delete tyre matrices.
Note: This functionality is customer bespoke and is only enabled if the Integrated Tyre Lookup checkbox is ticked in the General Tab within System Parameters.
For the most popular tyre sizes, a unit cost is stored (for one tyre) against three manufacturers for two suppliers.
At customer level (within the Maintenance Control Tab sub-record a Tyre Matrix flag must be populated with the appropriate tyre matrix code (which holds a value A to J - ie 1 to 10).
Matrix A, for example, holds unit tyre costs reflecting a certain level of discount, whilst matrices B to J have different values reflecting the maintenance terms for different customers.
On issuing an approval the customer details on FA. Custo are available:
This field is stored in the customer Maintenance Control Tab sub-record. The correct tyre matrix can therefore be loaded (A through to J).
The tyre matrix holds the Repairer address group code in the Supplier Code 1 and Supplier Code 2 fields. The correct repairer can therefore also be identified. FA. Repar loads the correct supplier details.
The tyre matrix holds an array of three manufacturer codes in the Manufacturer 1, Manufacturer 2 and Manufacturer 3 fields. Manufacturer codes are initially set up in the Tyre Manufacturers table within Miscellaneous Options.
The service codes within the approval are structured to define the relevant tyre manufacturer and units: e.g. TF2 DD denotesTyres Front, Units = 2, D = Damaged, D = Dunlop (Tyre Manuf Code)set up in the Tyre Manufacturers table within Miscellaneous Options.
From the service code, a hardcoded automatic lookup (utilizing either Maintbook's TMD dataset or CAP's technical data file) finds the appropriate matrix code.
Note: The relevant variant tyre size is accessible from the variant code.
The tyre matrix grid value is a unit cost. Multiple tyres are generated by the numeric character of the service code. The number of units is multiplied by the unit cost, there are no additional discounts to consider. From the data obtained, if a tyre supplier is considered to be performing below expectations then they may be replaced.
The form is split into three areas. These are the Titlebar, the Manufacturers Tyre Matrix Dialogue Box and the column of Command Buttons down the right-hand side of the form.
In addition to displaying the form name the Title Bar provides a number of useful buttons.
