Control Defaults

Overview

The Control Defaults screen is used by ADP to define (at set-up) the default limits to be applied to various functions within the Movement Control module. The default limits may be overridden by the customer within System Maintenance / System Controls.

To access the system controls:

  1. From the Master Menu, select the Movement Control option and Company required.

    The Movement Control menu is displayed.

  2. Select the Kerridge utilities option.

    The FD Kerridge Utilities menu is displayed.

  3. Select the Control Defaults option.

    The System controls form is displayed.

Control Defaults Form

The Control Defaults form is displayed when the Control Defaults option is selected from the Kerridge Utilities menu.

The screen is split into four areas which are as follows:

Title Bar

In addition to displaying the screen name the Title Bar provides a number of useful buttons.

Company Identifier: Displays the company number for the company that is currently being accessed for example, 00.

This area consists of two tabs:

Details Tab:

The following items may be edited:

Delivery Note Format: Stationary format code to be used for the printing of delivery documents.

Align Delivery Print: An indicator to show if the delivery stationery requires aligning prior to printing; this will not be needed if you normally use Kprint.

Collection Note Format: Stationary format code to be used for the printing of collection documents.

Align Collection Print: An indicator to show if the collection stationery requires aligning prior to printing; this will not be needed if you normally use Kprint.

Date Default: An indicator to denote that the system date is to be defaulted into all newly created delivery or collection records.

Reports Tab:

In many parts of the system an administration option is now available within the menu bar and tool bars. Amongst other options the administration facility enables access to a Quick Reports facility. This displays a list of user-defined reports applicable to the current process. Once written within RepGen reports may be selected for inclusion within this menu list within the Reports Tab.

The following fields are displayed:

Quick Mail Format: Pre-defined email relevant to the specific module area from which it is accessed (in this case, Vehicle Movements). This field displays the chosen Stationery Format code which is used to define the email layout for example, KFM (see Reports & Enquiries / Report Generator / Format Stationery).

Quick Report (1-10): User-defined report applicable to the Vehicle Movements module that may, as a result of being selected within the Reports Tab is available with the Admin/ Quick Reports option within Vehicle Movements. This field displays the chosen Report code for example, K03 (see Reports & Enquiries / Report Generator).

Command Buttons:

A number of command buttons are available. Some buttons are context sensitive and are dimmed and only become available dependent upon the particular process that is being accessed. The full list of command buttons is as follows:

Exit: Returns to the System Maintenance menu.

Help: Provides online access to context sensitive help for the current application using the default browser.

Save: Saves the new values for the system parameters.

Cancel: Cancels the amendment process and returns to the System Maintenance menu.
