Account Defaults

This option allows you set up the default entries or template (sometimes referred to as the initial record) for every new Purchase Ledger account created. These defaults extend to the Main-details tab, the Other-details tab, the Financial tab (although it is unlikely that any defaults will be applied to the Financial tab, other than zero), and the BACS tab. In this way, for example, if a single currency is being utilized, the currency code on the Main-details tab can be defaulted to "UKL", avoiding you having to enter it on every record created. Be certain that a default entry WILL apply to every record created before setting it up. Default entries CAN be amended when creating individual records.

To set-up or amend account defaults:

  1. From the Autoline Master menu select the Purchase Ledger option and the Company you require.

    The PURCHASE LEDGER menu is displayed.

  2. Select the System maintenance option.

    The PL SYSTEM MAINTENANCE menu is displayed.

  3. Select the Account defaults option.

    The Creditor Accounts; Initial record form is displayed.

    Warning: Caution should be exercised when allocating these defaults, to avoid the situation where you or another operator creating a new account might accept a default entry, rather than determining the correct one out of the choice available.
