When you log into the system, a printer is automatically selected. The option to change the selected printer is available on nearly all Autoline menus. Additionally, where applicable, you can select from among the printer's modes of operation.
To change the selected printer and/or its mode of operation
On a menu, click Change... button in the Printer group box.
The Choose Printer form displays a list of available printers.
Select a printer from the main grid.
The secondary grid displays a list of modes applicable to the printer represented by the highlighted line in the main grid.
Select the required modes and click the OK button.
You are returned to the menu.
Tip: Click the Exit button on the menu to ensure that a newly selected printer and/or mode is applied. We do not advise using the ESCAPE key to exit from menus, because options selected may not be acted on by the system.
Subsequent printed output is sent to the newly selected printer.
This is displayed when you click the Printer group box's Change... button on any menu.
Printer: Identifies a specific printer or, in some large installations, printer groups
Note: Terminals are associated with groups. If your terminal is not in a group, you may select any printer. If your terminal is in a group, you may only select from printers in that group, unless you have priority seven or above, in which case you can decide whether to use group printer selection. A local printer and your default terminal printer are always assumed to be in your group.
