There is a facility available from the company and customer record which allows you to create a Sales Ledger accounts. Some set up is necessary to make the option available.
Firstly the CRM system parameter Enable account number buttons needs to be switched on. However control over this facility ultimately comes from the Sales ledger it's self. With in Sales Ledger system parameters there needs to be no master debtors set up and the parameter allowing creation of accounts from outside the sales ledger needs to be populated with the minimum Sales Ledger priority needed.
When the facility is available the account field label on the company and customer records is a button When this button is clicked with the record in edit mode the create sales ledger account process is started.
On selecting the account option you will be asked to confirm the request.
By pressing on Yes you will be taken forward through the process to the next screen.
Pressing No will take you back to the record currently loaded.
If Yes was selected on the confirm input message box the Select start letter for account form will be opened. There are a number of elements on this form which need consideration. These are:-
There are two radio buttons on the form which control where in the account number sequence the new account is going to be created. You have the option to create the account at the end of the range or at the first available free number in the range.
The function of the letter grid is to allow you to select the prefixing letter for the account according to the account image defined in Sales Ledger account system parameters. This can be seen at the bottom left of the select start letter form. The grid itself contains the letters of the alphabet in both upper and lower case. The highlight will have defaulted to the capital version of the first letter of the record short name, but you can re select any letter by clicking on it.

OK | This option creates the account in the sales ledger. |
Cancel | Cancels the account creation process and returns you to the loaded record. |
Reset | Clears the selections made to allow a fresh selection to be made. |
Help | This opens the help page in your company's web browser. |
Tip: You will see on the form there are letters in words which have underscores. These are accelerator keys which give you a quick keyboard method of selecting the options. All you need is the letter in the label for the option you require. You can then select that option by holding down the Alt key and then pressing the letter.
