The daemon should only be accessed on the computer that has been set up with the fluid dispenser software because it is responsible for exchanging data between that software and Autoline.
Tip: To see which daemon processes are running, select the Check daemons option from the Tools menu in Setup.
What do you want to do?
To check whether the daemon is running:
Having started the daemon, select the All msgs check box on the Daemon form.
Dispenser transaction files are created constantly and their filenames (and paths) are listed in the text box at top when they are received from the fluid dispenser controller after a quantity of fluid has been dispensed. Normally only a Session opens line followed by Start timer and any Stop timer events are listed.
If, because of unusual circumstances, the daemon is not running, somebody must start it.
The fluid dispenser daemon must be running because it exchanges data between fluid dispenser software and Autoline.
To start the daemon manually:
Select the Dispenser daemon option on the second Operations menu.
If a menu of Point-of-Sale companies is displayed, select the appropriate company.
Note: Where the same fluid dispenser handles transactions for more than one Point-of-Sale company, you must start daemon sessions running for each.
If the daemon is already running, the following message is displayed:
ERROR. Daemon already running for: [Company name]
Otherwise, the daemon starts running and the Daemon form is displayed.
When you first start it, it prompts you to enter the local directory in which files are exchanged with the third party fluid dispenser franchise software. This is usually set up by a consultant. You must then start the timer by clicking the Start timer button.
Tip: To stop the daemon, click Halt timer. You can also make the daemon start automatically.
