GM is introducing a single, pan-European method of updating parts prices for all of its brands. Files containing daily and periodic updates will be sent to the DMS via GM exchange. This change means that the pricing for GM (and other brands in the future) is all sent in one file, rather than being split by brand. Because of this, a new GE component is needed to pre-process the data before the GM conversion can run.
GM European Parts Price Publication data import is usually launched by timed operations, but you can launch it manually as well. Using the default daemon parameter in timed operations, the system will be set to be executed once a day.
Note: The log paths must be changed according to Autoline server.

To launch the data import manually:
From the General Motors Group Operations Menu select the Inbound price files feeder option and click OK.
The Inbound price files feeder form is displayed.
Select File > Run from the menu bar or click the Run button on the toolbar.
The data import from the files provided by GM to the Autoline intermediate parts data files is performed.
When the execution is finished, the system displays the log file of the last execution. If the process has an error, the system displays the error description, halts the process and send an email containing the error description to the person whose email address is set up in the parameters. if the process is completed without any errors, the system displays the log file with the following information:
The time the process started and finished
Which OPA files have been picked up
What brands were mapped to which franchise at the point when the import began
How many records were created by franchise per OPA record
GE brands must be mapped here to Autoline manufacturers.
As GM informs you about the country-specific local parts by flagging these parts in the 39th brand code, it is possible to set what DMS brand should be updated including these parts on its inbound files. Then, by selecting Position 39 and entering a DMS brand, the system updates every local part into inbound files for whatever is set up as DMS Brand. It is also possible to update inbound files for all DMS brands, by entering ** in DMS Brand instead a specific brand. If neither ** nor a specific DMS brand is set up in the Description LOCAL PART mapping row, local parts will not be updated into any inbound file.
As the master price files will not be initialised at any point in the process, obsolete records are likely to build up over time. Therefore, a new process will run on the first day of every month only. It will read each record in the master price file and scrutinise each one with the Service Indicator field on the GM Vauxhall Master Parts Price File form set to N. If no stock record exists or if a stock record exists and the date in the field Moved is more than 365 days ago, the part will be deleted from the price file. A Deletion of obsolete parts form will be displayed only when not running from an end of day process.
This form is displayed when you select the Inbound price files feeder option on the General Motors Group Operations Menu and click OK. It enables you to administer GM European Parts Price Publication.
