When you have completed the negotiation, you can load parts and labour onto a WIP. There are two load options:
The Fixed-load option loads parts and labour onto the WIP all as one price. Any discounting applied affects parts and labour together, and discrepancies are posted to the menu pricing variance account.
The job is displayed as one labour line at the total agreed price, and all labour/parts included on that menu are shown with a value of £0.00. The parts are listed on the invoice but only their quantities are shown.
Select the Fixed-load radio button on the Vauxhall GME Menu Pricing Negotiation form.
Click OK.
Note: Any parts/labour items issued to the Point-of-Sale WIP in the normal manner will be charged as an additional amount to the agreed price.
Loading a menu with the Fixed-load option is not always convenient, especially if the customer likes to see exactly what they have paid for. For this reason, the Menu Pricing interface allows you to load a menu without a fixed price, as if it were a normal WIP (i.e. the job value is calculated on the current selling price of parts and labour). This means that discounting can be applied to either parts or labour independently.
Select the Itemised-load radio button on the Vauxhall GME Menu Pricing Negotiation form.
Click OK.
Note: If you have loaded a job onto the WIP as an itemised menu, you can convert it back to a fixed menu using standard POS functionality to action the WIP and negotiate the price, wherein you can enter a fixed price against any Completed lines. In order to use this facility, ensure that the Allow fixed prices flag is ticked on the Parts 1 tab of the Flag-Priorities POS parameters.
