Vauxhall GME Menu Pricing Interface in Point-of-Sale

The Vauxhall GME Menu Pricing interface enables you to search for a menu in Point-of-Sale (POS) and negotiate the price before you load it onto the WIP. This topic assumes that you are familiar with standard POS operation.

Raising an Estimate

  1. Open a new WIP.

  2. Ensure that the correct Department code is entered on the Codes tab of the WIP.

Note: The department code is held on the Main tab of the POS parameters. A default value for the terminal number is normally used, and is not changed by the user. You can also identify a unique labour franchise code and labour rate code for each department on the Department tab of the parameters.

  3. Ensure that the RTS company in the New product group box is set to GM.

Note: It is possible to set up a franchise as the default RTS company.

  4. Click the Ellipsis button in the New product group box, and select the Menus command from the shortcut menu.

Tip: Alternatively, enter an asterisk (*) in the field and press the TAB key.

The Vauxhall Menu Pricing form is displayed, and Point-of-Sale starts communicating with GM-E.

You will get one of the following results:

    1. If no vehicle is loaded onto the WIP, you must identify the vehicle in GM-E.

    2. If a vehicle is loaded onto the WIP that exists in the Autoline CRM database, the vehicle is loaded in GM-E.

    2. If the vehicle is found on the Autoline CRM database but is not currently loaded onto the WIP, the Customer Search form is displayed. Select the Vehicle, Customer and Account, and click OK. (If any information is missing in the CRM Customer, Account or Vehicle records, you are prompted in the normal way.)

    3. If the vehicle details on the Autoline CRM database do not match the details on the GM-E database, the GM-E Vehicle Update form is displayed with the message: Some details on your marketing database do not match the details in GM-E. You must identify which chassis number or registration number you want to use to update your Autoline CRM database. Do the following:
