Model Selection

Note: This help system contains standard information, some of which might not apply to your franchise. There might be a help file specific to your Autoline configuration. It could be either in the help system specific to your manufacturer, or displayed when you click the Help button on the relevant form or menu.

The Search for Model - [Manufacturer] - form enables you to find a vehicle model code and, in particular, to add labour to a WIP when you know the labour code.

Adding Labour to a WIP When You Know the Labour Code

Note: If you use this procedure after returning to the Point-of-Sale form from another form, you must again set the franchise in the New product group to the required manufacturer. Furthermore, if you click Cancel (returning you to the Point-of-Sale form) to restart the process, you must exit the Point-of-Sale form and display it again. Otherwise, the required functionality is not enabled (even when you set the franchise in the New product group to the required manufacturer).

To add labour to a WIP when you know the labour code:

  1. Set the franchise in the New product group on the Service Point-of-Sale form to the required manufacturer; type the labour code preceded by a hash # in the left-hand New product box, and press the TAB key.

The Search for Model - [Manufacturer] - form is displayed.

  2. If the Model group field appears, select a model group from the drop-down Drop-down to filter the displayed records. This gives you an extra level of vehicle selection over and above the standard level of vehicle models. It can help you search a big list of model codes.

Note: Whether or not the Model group field is displayed depends on how the system is set up for your franchise.

Tip: If you cannot quickly identify the record you require in the grid, type a word or words into the Model code or description box and press TAB to refresh the grid with records meeting your search text. If you start with the stem of the model code - for example, JT - this filters further.

Note: Clicking OK or pressing the RETURN key does not have the same effect as pressing TAB. (If the search string is only partial, the form closes.)

  3. Either double-click the grid row, or select the required grid row (model/model code) and click OK.
