The Current VSB period dates form is displayed when the Display VSB period option is selected from the Vehicle Stockbook menu.
The fields displayed on the Current VSB period dates form are listed below:
Nominal Ledger
In the first column the start and end dates of the current nominal or general ledger (NL) period are shown, followed by the start and end dates of the current nominal or general ledger financial year, followed by the current NL period number and the current financial year.
Vehicles
In the second column the start and end dates of the current VAT statistics period are shown, followed by the start and end dates of the current VAT statistics year, followed by the current VAT period number and the VAT year.
Sales Ledger
In the third column the start and end dates of the current vehicle administration (VS) period are shown, followed by the start and end dates of the current vehicle administration year, followed by the current vehicle administration period number and the current vehicle administration year.
Purchase Ledger
In the fourth column the start and end dates of the Purchase ledger (NL) period are shown, followed by the start and end dates of the Purchase ledger financial year, followed by the current PL period number and the current financial year.
Tip: It is recommended that the vehicle administration period is turned over (the new period selected) immediately before the nominal ledger month end routine to prevent inconsistency between the two sets of figures.
There should not normally be a difference between the NL and the VS period dates, and you should not be overly concerned to find that the vehicle administration period, as well as the nominal ledger period, is still set to 'last month'. If VAT is on a quarterly period basis then there may be some difference between the end date of the current VAT quarter and the current NL and VS periods.
