The Department details holds information on the location of the customer, the department, the contact executive, the contact type and method. A customer could have several different locations and contacts, e.g. if a customer purchases a vehicle at one location, they may take it to a different location for a service. These fields are amenable depending on your priorities within the Autoline system.
To access the customer Department details, load a Customer record in edit mode and select the additional details tab.
To add a Department: Right click any where on the grey grid displaying the words Location, Department, Sales Executive, Customer type, Contact type.
To edit a Department: Right click on the line that requires editing.
Note: Click on the
to view the selection. Your selection will depend to your priorities within Autoline.
Location: This is the location of the customer.
Department: This is the department of the customer e.g. Sales
Filter sales executives by Department: If the box is not enabled you will be given a list of all available contact executives for all Departments. If the box is enable with a tick the system will filter the contact executives and only show ones for the selected Department.
Contact executive: This will show a list of available contact executives.
Customer Type: This displays the Customer Type (customer type code is a useful field when you are running mail shots). These codes can be updated automatically within the Autoline system depending on your system set up. For exammple, a customer could be a prospect but purchase a vehicle, once the invoice has been raised the customer type will update from P Prospect to C Customer. Similar functionality exists when a credit is produced; the customer type rolls back to the previous customer type. For example, if the customer target type is C Customer and a credit is produced the customer type will update to P Prospect.
C - Customer P - Prospect R - Repeat customer X - No longer required
Contact method: This is the contact method of the customer, e.g. the customer requires no letters only telephone calls. These codes are hard coded.

Cancel:Click Cancel to return to the customer record without saving your changes.
