Introduction

Manufacturer-Specific (MS) file transfers are used by several MS programs to transmit and receive files to and from remote systems or local PCs.

Among other things, MS file transfers can be used for:

• Rentals import

• Sending warranty claims to the manufacturer

• Receiving electronic parts advice notes and invoices

• Uploading EPC (electronic parts catalogue) data from the EPC system into the Autoline system for loading to a point-of-sale WIP

• Sending parts extracts to suppliers

The MS file transfers program overcomes many of the problems of transferring files between incompatible computer systems including UNIX, HP, AS400 and Microsoft Windows.
