Troubleshooting

In use, there may be occurrences of error messages that indicate a potential or existing problem with the way the system operates. You must report these errors immediately either to your Support team or to Software Support. The following briefly describe the cause of a given error message and the action that you must take.

Note: If any error occurs other than those listed in this topic, you must treat the error as serious and contact Support immediately.

No files found to convert
Cause: Either no files have been uploaded or the parameters are incorrect causing the system to look in the wrong place for the files or look for the wrong filename.
Solution: See Standard Parameters.
Cannot load advice note file
Cause: The advice note files have not been created. These files are created automatically, and you should only get this message if the automated process fails.
Solution: Advice note files are created on set-up either by Support or by an Autoline consultant. If this message is displayed any time after set-up, contact support.
Error - No PC system params setup for selected company
Cause: System parameters do not exist in purchase control for this company.
Solution: It is likely that this is a dead company no longer used. If it is a live company, the parameters are likely to be locked or fatally corrupted. Contact support.
WARNING: Unable to open advice parameter dictionary
Cause: As part of initialization, it is necessary to load the advice note parameter dictionary. If this message is seen, the dictionary is either locked or is corrupt.
Solution: Contact support.
WARNING: Unable to open franchise table
Cause: As part of initialization, it is necessary to load the advice note parameter dictionary. If this message is seen, the dictionary is either locked or is corrupt.
Solution: Contact support.
WARNING: Advice parameters not found for this company
Cause: No advice note parameters have been created for this company. This is now an automated process, so you should only see this message if the file is corrupt or there is no space in the file to create another record.
Solution: See Standard Parameters.
No parameters exist for this company. You need to create them.
Cause: This message is displayed when you select the PC company and the advice note parameters are not set up.
Solution: See Standard Parameters.
WARNING: Unable to find advice controls file
Cause: No advice note control file has been created for this company. This process is now automated, so you only see this message if the controls file is corrupt.
WARNING: Franchise code doesn't exist in franchise table
Cause: The franchise code entered in the advice note parameters does not exist in the Stock Management franchise table.
Solution: Either the franchise code setting in the standard advice note parameters is incorrect or in the case of new franchises, it may be necessary to create the code in the Stock Management franchise table. (Contact POS support in this case.)
WARNING: Unable to read franchise table
Cause: The franchise table in Stock Management is either locked or corrupt.
WARNING: Problem reading default stock record
Cause: The default stock record in the Stock Management module is either locked or corrupt.
Problem encountered reading stock group record (Record not found)
Cause: A product group does not exist in the Stock Management franchise record.
Solution: Enter the product group in the Stock Management franchise record.
WARNING: Unable to find parts template
Cause: When using orders it may be necessary to create a new part in the stock file from the advice note program. To do this the stock template is required. If you get this message, the parts template is locked, missing or corrupt.
Solution: Contact POS support.
ERROR! - reading default header record
Cause: When using orders it is necessary to create an order header in Purchase Control from the advice note program. To do this the default header record is required. If you get this message, the default header record is locked, missing or corrupt.
Solution: Contact POS support.
WARNING: Unable to open master price file
Cause: The franchise's Master Price file is locked, has bad permissions or is corrupt.
Solution: Contact MS support.
