In use, there may be occurrences of error messages that indicate a problem with the way the system operates. The following briefly describe the cause of a given error message and the action that you must take.
WARNING : Failed to write price record - kisam error text Cause: During Price file set-up, a record could not be written because of a kisam error and the update process is halted. Solution: Corrective action depends on the fault indicated by kisam error text in the system message. No partnumber reference (PPARTNO or PARTNO) found in price data-dictionary Cause: This message is displayed when you build a supersession chain if the price file dictionary does not contain a field called PARTNO or PPARTNO. Solution: You can only build a supersession file if the master price file contains a field called PARTNO or PPARTNO. If the master price file contains one or both of these fields, check that the correct dictionary is installed and I-fields are generated. No supersession reference (SUPER) found in price data-dictionary Cause: This message is displayed when you build a supersession chain, and means that the price file dictionary does not contain a field called SUPER. Solution: You are unable to build a supersession chain if the master price file does not contain a field called SUPER. If the master price file contains this field, check that the correct dictionary is installed and i-fields are generated. Error updating supersession chains file [kisam error text] Cause: This message is displayed when you build a supersession chain, and a fault occurs while writing to the supersessions chain file. Solution: The corrective action depends on the nature of the fault, specified in the [kisam error text] part of the message.
