Introduction to Surcharge Return Tracking

When a dealer purchases a part that can be reconditioned, in addition to the value of the part, the parts supplier normally adds a surcharge. This is to encourage the dealer to return the old unit. The surcharge value is normally passed on to the dealer's customer so that he returns the old unit to the dealer to get the surcharge value refunded.

The surcharge return tracking software enables a dealer to track and maintain the surcharge parts returns so that returns labels are not missed, resulting in the label expiring before it has been used. The software includes facilities to inform the dealer's parts manager about any labels nearing their expiry date and about outstanding customer returns.

Note: Before you can use surcharge return tracking, the database needs to be set up with the correct parameters. A consultant would normally carry out the setting up of the parameters at the same time that the on-site training takes place.
