The MS UTILITIES MENU is displayed when you select the General utilities option from the JAGUAR OPERATIONS menu.
Generic validation rules: Generic validation generates software to handle sets of checks that test the validity of a record, or set of records, against a set of rules entered in pseudo-English. It is similar in operation to Report Generator. Typical use is for warranty claim validation. For example, if the vehicle is more than X years old, the warranty type must be E for Extended (unless the claim type implies corrosion in whch case the vehicle is more than Y years).
Report generator: The facilities of the Report Generator sub-system are common to all Rev.8 software applications. These facilities allow you to create your own reports from any combination of fields on your records. Instead of being forced to depend on a few standard reports, you can select the ones that meet your individual day-to-day requirements or you can create special reports which solve particular problems as they arise.
Ad-hoc enquiries: The facilities of the Ad-hoc enquiries program are common to all Rev.8 software applications. A powerful and sophisticated set of tools allows specialised enquiries of any module. You can formulate enquiries using field and verb references and save enquiries for regular use.
File transfer options: Not currently used in Rev.8.
Parameters & controls: Allows you to maintain the Jaguar parameters and controls.
Load/unload data file: Not currently used in Rev.8.
File usage statistics: Displays the percentage in-use situation of files within the Jaguar database.
Word-search extract (rtsco): Not currently used in Rev.8.
Word-search extract (menus): Not currently used in Rev.8.
