Overdue Interest Calculation

You use the Overdue Interest Calculation program to charge interest on open transactions per account. You do this by selecting open transactions using the Select Overdue Interest Proposals form.

Selecting Open Transactions

You can select open transactions per area code or per account. If you do not enter any search criteria and click the Select toolbar button Select, the Overdue Interest Proposals form displays every open transaction in all accounts in all areas.

To select open transactions:

  1. Select the search criterion you want to use (either Area or Account).

  2. Depending on the search criterion you selected, do the following:

    1. Select the From area and To area transactions you want to view.

    2. Select the From account and To account transactions you want to view.

  3. Enter the Interest Calculation Date. This defaults to the last day of the last month.

  4. Click the Select toolbar button Select.

    The Overdue Interest Proposals form is displayed with the open transactions you selected.

Select Overdue Interest Proposals Form

This form is displayed when you click Sales Ledger > Overdue Interest Calculation. It is used to select all open transactions in specific accounts or areas so that you can decide which transactions to charge overdue interest on.

Leaves the program and returns to the previous menu.

Displays the Overdue Interest Proposals form with the open transactions you selected.

Fields:

Search criterion: Initial search criterion for your open transaction search (either area or account).

From area: Starting point for your open transaction search, if searching areas.

To area: Ending point for your open transaction search, if searching areas.

From account: Starting point for your open transaction search, if searching accounts.

To account: Ending point for your open transaction search, if searching accounts.

Interest calculation date: Date the overdue interest calculation was run. This defaults to the last day of the previous month. If the calculation was run during the current month, the default is the current month. To change the default date, enter a date between either the last day of previous month or the last run date and today.
