Allocation Filtering

See also: Finding Documents in a Range of Values.

This program lets you search for a range of documents across several accounts. You can filter by Account range when you do a document search on the Postings Tab of the Cash Book form.

Note: If you do not filter, you could get over 1000 documents!

Filtering can reduce your search results in the Document search grid. You can then find documents within a range of values via the Transaction Selection form. This narrows down your search even more.

To filter by account range:

  1. Do one of the following (a or b):

    1. Click the Document search ellipsis [...] on the Cash Book form.

Note: The Allocation Filter form is automatically displayed if the number of documents to be displayed in the Document search grid is more than 1000.

    2. Click Filter on the Document Search form.

Warning: Setting filters clears all unposted allocations.

The Allocation Filter form is displayed.

  2. Choose the range of accounts you require. This filter includes a search option in the Sales Ledger or Purchase Ledger accounts. Select a [From] Account [...] and a [To] Account [...].

  3. Enter the document ranges for the following:

  4. Click OK to proceed. (Clicking Cancel abandons your search. Clicking Reset clears the range fields in the form.)

If you clicked OK, the list of documents in the grid of the Document search form is reduced to fewer than 1000.

(You can then find documents within a range of values, via the Transaction Selection form. This narrows down your search even more.)
