Introduction

The Cash Book functionality is used to perform cash posting and bank reconciliations, so it is not necessary to move to the purchase and sales ledgers to perform the functions. You can filter to select transactions from different accounts in the same payment and search by Account- and Amount range

Setup

Set up the Cash Book Menu in the system parameters.   In the parameters, the [Cash Book] Available field must be selected and the PL Account types, SL Company and PL Company fields must be populated. The menu will not be visible until this is done.

Cash Book Menu

This menu is displayed when you click Nominal Ledger > Cash Book Menu.

Cash book: The dealer suspense account transactions.

Display cash book reference: Displays a summary of all transactions processed by all users for the day in a specific control account.

Cash book enquiry: Searches for specific transactions in a control account

Reconcile cash book: Enables you to reconcile a control account.

Cash expense input: Enables you to input cash expense transactions into your nominal ledger.

Process bank statement: Enables you to process bank statements.

SL Cash posting & allocation: Enables you to post cash transactions to the sales ledger and nominal ledger at the same time.

PL Cash posting & allocation: Enables you to post cash transactions to the purchase ledger and nominal ledger at the same time.

Take deposits: Take deposits from customers for vehicles and attach the details directly to a vehicle stock book record.

Reconcile till accounts: Reconcile accounts where payment has been received from the customer.

Manual bank reconciliation: Manually reconcile transactions after verifying them.

Bank reconciliation report: Report displaying all financial transactions.

Currency Exchange Rates: Allows you to view and edit currency exchange rates.

Bank transfer: Used to control bank journals, to transfer monies from foreign currency bank/control accounts to sterling bank accounts.

Cash book parameters: Used to setup cash book and petty cash parameters.
