When producing an invoice in Point of sale, the operator has the opportunity to indicate that the payment has been received from the customer. In doing this, the invoice will be posted as paid and the value of the payment will be posted to a 'till' account.
The flag that controls this facility is held in Point of Sale >: System Maintenance >: POS Parameters >: Flags-Priorities. The Allow Cash flag can be found on the Miscellaneous tab.
The principle of this program is to group Point of Sale transactions together (if you are using till accounting), typically end of day banking, to allow easier reconciliation of cash/banking/credit card statements. For example, in Point Of sale, you may receive 100 different amounts through the till. It is possible to transfer/post them to a bank account/cash suspense or credit card account in lump sums that will allow easier reconciliation later on. It is also possible through this facility to re-instate the debt if the item has been dealt with as if it is a 'Cash Sale' but the Cash has not been taken.
A facility can be set up to produce your 'Bank Paying In Slips' for multiple banks in the same reconciliation session. This is achieved by the creation of a currency denomination file and system parameters held in both Sales and Nominal Ledgers.
Upon entry to this option from the menu you will be prompted to select a Point of Sale Company relative to the transactions you are about to reconcile. This is in order that the form can load relevant transaction references from the Point of Sale log files to assist identification of transactions during the reconciliation.
Once you have selected a Point of Sale Company Autoline will load and validate the default Nominal Ledger Bank Accounts and Sales Ledger Accounts for suitability of use within this facility. Any account rejected for whatever reason will not be available to post to during a reconciliation session.
Once into the Banked Cash Reconciliation form you will then load the transactions that you wish to reconcile.
