The Top Runners allows users the facility storage of up to ten vehicle variants along with partial or complete specifications of options. Top Runners may be used for many purposes, for example during special promotions of certain types of vehicle, where enquiries need to be created quickly.
Tip: The last five enquiries are also available for quick retrieval, by selecting Previous Enquiries from the File menu of the Showroom Customer Enquiries form. However these are usually complete enquiries for a specific customer, including details of trade-ins and finance agreements.
What do you want to do?
To store a vehicle specification as a Top Runner:
Start to create an enquiry using any of the methods accessed from the Showroom Customer Enquiries form.
At the Specification Confirmation stage, after specifying the vehicle and all options, select Store configuration as top 10 vehicle from the File menu.
A message is displayed asking whether you wish to store the current vehicle configuration as an entry in the top vehicles file.
Click OK to continue.
The details of the current enquiry are stored as a Top Runner and can be recalled at any time by following the instructions below.
A message is displayed asking whether you wish to continue with the current enquiry.
Note: The priority level to store a Top Runners is not parameterised but is hard coded to a priority of level 6.
Select Top runners from the Tools menu of the Showroom Customer Enquiries form, or click the 
toolbar icon.
The Top Runners form is displayed. The vehicle specifications from enquiries that have been previously stored (as described above) are listed in a grid with columns for Model/Variant, Options (if specified when the top runner was stored) and Price (including VAT).
Select the vehicle specification you wish to recall by clicking anywhere on the corresponding line in the grid.
The following optional steps are available:
To specify the finance company to use for this enquiry, select Finance Company from the Edit menu or click the 
toolbar icon.
To reprice the vehicle(s) according to a specified price date, click the ... button in the date field near the bottom of the form, select a date using the popup calendar, then select the Reprice vehicle based on date checkbox. The figures in the Price column will be updated.
Select Next from the View menu or click the 
toolbar icon.
The Enquiry Builder is displayed with the details of the selected vehicle.
To remove a vehicle specification from the Top Runners list:
Select Top runners from the Tools menu of the Showroom Customer Enquiries form, or click the toolbar icon.
The Top Runners form is displayed. The Top Runners are listed in a grid.
Select the vehicle specification you wish to remove by clicking anywhere on the corresponding line in the grid.
Select Delete entry from the Edit menu or click the 
toolbar icon.
The list is updated.
To exit the Top Runners form, select Previous from the View menu or click the 
toolbar icon.
