Maintaining Rack Sizes

A standard rack size is 1000 cm width and 2000 cm height, these values are used to assist the calculation of Bin requirements. Italy utilise variable rack sizing so require a more flexible method of determining rack size and the assignment of variable rack sizes to locations.

Note: The flexible rack sizing functionality is currently only utilized in Italy

Rack Size Maintenance Form

This form is displayed when you click Manufacturer systems (Module) and MB. Mercedes-Benz (Company) > Menu - Parts > Select SM company (if applicable) > Stock location maintenance > Stock management > Rack sizes toolbar button tbOptions.gif or click the Maintenance > Stock management > Rack sizes menu bar command. It maintains the rack sizes for Italian dealers.

Menu Bar and Toolbar:

Menu bar Toolbar Action
File > Close Exit.gif Returns you to the Empty Bin Locations Per Type form.
File > New FileNew3.gif Creates a new rack size.
File > Delete Cross.gif Deletes a rack size.

Available rack sizes Grid

Code: Displays the rack code.

Rack height (mm): Displays the rack height in millimeters.

Rack width (mm): Displays the rack width in millimeters.

Adding a Rack Size

To add a rack size:

  1. On the master menu, select Manufacturer systems (Module) and MB. Mercedes-Benz (Company) > Menu - Parts > Select SM company (if applicable) > Stock location maintenance > Stock management > Rack sizes toolbar button tbOptions.gif or click the Maintenance > Stock management > Rack sizes menu bar command.

    The Rack Size Maintenance form is displayed.

  2. Click the New toolbar button FileNew3.gif or click the Edit > Add new record menu bar command.

    A blank gridline is created in the Available rack sizes grid.

  3. Enter all the required rack details.

    The rack size is saved automatically.

Deleting a Rack Size

To delete a rack size:

  1. On the master menu, select Manufacturer systems (Module) and MB. Mercedes-Benz (Company) > Menu - Parts > Select SM company (if applicable) > Stock location maintenance > Stock management > Rack sizes toolbar button tbOptions.gif or click the Maintenance > Stock management > Rack sizes menu bar command.

    The Rack Size Maintenance form is displayed.

  2. Select the gridline with the rack size concerned.

    The gridline is displayed in blue.

  3. Click the Delete toolbar button Cross.gif or click the Edit > Delete record menu bar command.

    Removes the rack size selected from the Available rack sizes grid.
