The Mercedes-Benz daemon monitor provides an overview of all daemon processes which are configured for Mercedes-Benz and, if applicable, other franchises.
Tip: You can setup the Mercedes-Benz daemon monitor function to start and stop the daemons automatically in Timed operations
with module MS and option MSMBDMN.
You can also use the Start All Backgrounds function manually or automatically in Timed operations with module SU and option STARTALL (Start all backgrounds), so that the Mercedes-Benz Daemon Monitor is triggered to start all concerning Mercedes-Benz daemons.
The Mercedes-Benz Daemon Monitor form makes the starting and stopping of one or all daemons possible, additionally this form is displayed when running the Start all backgrounds function to start the configured daemons. All daemons are also stopped automatically by the Lock system function.
This form is displayed when you click Manufacturer-specific > MB. Mercedes-Benz > Menu - Utilities > Mercedes-Benz daemon monitor. It makes the starting and stopping of one or all daemons possible.

Grid:
It is possible to also configure the daemons for other franchises than Mercedes-Benz. Daemon registration is done by the corresponding product and based on the related system setup. All registered daemons are listed in the grid.
Tip: Click the gridline to select the daemon required.
Description: Displays the name of the daemon that is configured for Autoline. All daemons available are listed, including the STCDS daemons:
- STCDS - StarConnect Data Server
- STCDS - Asynchronous communication: Handles the asynchronous communication between Autoline and the STCDS.
- STCDS - Persistent line dispatcher: Handles all synchronous communication requests which are initiated by the backend systems. The persistent line daemon is a set of daemons which consist of:
- One dispatcher
- One line handler per configured external system ID
- One or more processors per configured external system ID
Module: Displays the module and company for which the daemon is running.
Partition: Displays the global partition number where the daemon is running.
Status: Displays the daemon status:
- (Grey bullet point) Not running: The daemon is currently not running
- (Yellow bullet point) Starting...: The daemon is started by the daemon monitor
- (Green bullet point) Running: The daemon is up and running
- (Red bullet point) Failed to start: Failed to start the daemon from the daemon monitor
