Generic Price File Conversion

Some smaller parts suppliers issue single price files that contain parts for different manufacturers. A facility is available that allows you to update the price file in the Autoline standard MS-00 company with this data.

In order to perform an update, ensure that you:

To update the price file in the MS-00 company:

    WARNING: The following routine removes all existing price file records before it converts the new files. Ensure that the new files are in place, that a backup has been taken recently and that no local modifications have been made to the price file records.

  1. From the KERRIDGE STANDARD OPERATIONS menu, select the Price file menu option.

    The Price file menu is displayed.

  2. Select the Generic price file import option.

    The system displays the following message:

    This function updates the master parts price file
    in the Autoline Standard MS-00 company.

  3. Click OK.

    The Generic price file conversion form is displayed.

  4. Enter the Franchise code of the parts supplier.

    Tip: A list of valid franchise codes is available from the drop-down menu.

  5. Click the Import data button.

    The system starts to transfer the file. On completion, the following message is displayed:

    File transfer complete

  6. Click OK.

    Note: If the transfer fails, check that the source file is named correctly. If it is, there may be a problem with your PC cabling. Contact your System Administrator.

  7. Click the Update price file button.

    The system displays the Update generic price file form which shows the first ten records contained in the source file.

  8. If you are happy to go ahead, click the OK button.

    The system displays a progress of the update.

    Warning: If there is a problem with the source data, the system identifies what the problem is and asks you how you want to proceed.
