In certain markets, such as Taiwan, Hong Kong and Korea, it is required to store both MB Standard Chassis Number and MB American Chassis Number.
Chosen terminology:
Chassis number / FIN (Fahrzeug-Indentifizierungsnummer): European chassis number
VIN number: US chassis number
The VIN number field is added to the Showroom (SR), the Vehicle Stockbooks (VS), Point of Sale (SO) and the CRM (MK) forms besides the standard chassis number field. In addition it is possible to search for the vehicle record based on the VIN number in Vehicle Stockbooks, Point of Sale and the CRM.
The additional VIN number field or search function is added in the following forms:

Note: In case not both fields chassis number and VIN number are available on the form you can click the VIN button to display the VIN number and click again the FIN button to display the Chassis number.
If the Second VIN number parameter is set to F - Default to Chassis (FIN) number
the Chassis number is displayed, except when the Chassis number is left blank and there is a VIN number available.
If the Second VIN number parameter is set to V - Default to VIN number
the VIN number is displayed, except when the VIN number is left blank and there is a Chassis number available.
The text on the button is default in the colour black. If the VIN or chassis number which is not displayed has a value, the text of the button is coloured red.
