Supersessions Parameters

Parts Supersession Parameters contain user defined parameters that enable standard parts processes of Autoline's Point of Sales system.

Tip: To activate the Supersessions program these parameters must be set up per Stock Management company.

Note: With the Use MB supersessions parameter, you can select for which company the Mercedes-Benz supersessions is used. Depending on this selection the Mercedes-Benz supersessions or the Standard supersessions parameters are displayed.

Supersessions Form

This form is displayed when you click Manufacturer systems (Module) and MB. Mercedes-Benz (Company) > Menu - Utilities > Mercedes-Benz parameters and you browse to Parts > Supersessions > [no. Company name] on the Project parameters browser.

Mercedes-Benz Supersessions Setup

Stock management parameters:

Upload supersession-file in SM: Indicates that the Stock management supersession table is to be maintained from the MB supersession table.

Transfer history of a part if consolidated from stock: Select to move the history of a part, which is consolidated from the stock file, to the next straight supersession part in the chain.

Point-of-Sales parameters:

Show multiple supersessions at beginning of the chain: Defines that the multiple supersession should be shown at the beginning of the supersession chain, when the requested part is part of the supersession chain.

Show supersession chain: The that the supersession chain in Point-of-Sale is only shown when required. With this parameter is it possible to force that the supersession chain is also shown in some other cases..

Default: The chain is only shown when required

Always (A): The chain is always shown.

Straight supersessions (S): The chain is also shown when a straight supersession or multiple supersession is suggested.

Multiple supersessions (M): The chain is also shown when a multiple supersession is suggested.

Tip: Recommended settings for DMS: Straight supersessions (S) and IMS: Default.

Allow multiple supersessions in suggestion list: The supersession program will allocate as many parts as possible with free stock within the supersession chain. This parameter will defines what different types of supersession are allowed to be suggested for the same requested part.

Show supersession code in parts description: Defines that the supersession type is to be displayed within the part description.

Purchase control parameters:

Show supersession chain:Defines when the supersession chain is shown.

Default: The chain is only shown when required

Always (A): The chain is always shown.

Straight supersessions (S): The chain is also shown when a straight supersession or multiple supersession is suggested.

Multiple supersessions (M): The chain is also shown when a multiple supersession is suggested.

Supersede open order items:

Valid status codes: Defines the valid status codes for open order lines.

Type of supersession (c-code):

Supersession code type in use:

(blank) Use the Show MB c-codes parameter as defined in the System supersession setup.

001 Use the standard Autoline c-codes for both MB and non-MB parts.

002 Use MB c-codes for both MB and non-MB parts.

Note: For non-MB parts standard Autoline codes will be displayed.

Standard Supersessions Setup

Upload parameters:

Check supersessions at upload: Select to run a consistency check when Mercedes-Benz supersessions data is stored in the Stock management supersessions file.

Accept supersession errors: Select to save the stock management record regardless of any inconsistency found.

Franchise-codes used for supersession-upload: Enter the franchise codes required.
